My Persona Grind

Man we just got back now, want a drag. At least I can finally eat some of mom's curry chicken. Boy I'm starving! Lemme fix me a plate. Look good, taste good, and it was made with love. What more could I ask for?

Now that I'm full, it's time to play Persona 5. Back to the grind! Can I beat the first boss this time...Yes I can! Let's go, first try! I can finally move on to the next Palace.

Hold up, where's the fighting? Oh, I finished early so nothing big has happened yet. Wow the case is on the news and we're not expelled from school! A successful victory. So what now? Eat out to celebrate and lay low.

Everyone is talking about the Kamoshida scandal, so when will it die down? Huh, instead of conquering a Palace with bosses, I have to go to Mementos? I thought those were breath mints, not a place to throw down.

Since when is Morgana a car? I thought he was a cat. Now the Shadows look like the first Angel fought in Evangelion. None of this makes sense—wait, did I just hear chains? Oh no, we don't. I did not just go all the way down here, just to have to restart. I haven't even found a safe room yet, so why now? Of all the scary things, it just had to be The Reaper.

I guess I stayed on this floor too long, so I better get a move on. Phew, ok he's gone. Why is there a swirling dead-end? I swear the blotches on the walls remind me of Stranger Things for some reason. And the ones on the columns near the exit look like Code Lyoko towers.

Alright, I fought the Shadow stalker and managed to win this time. And battled tons of other Shadows, so I should be home free, right? Man, I went way too far down for my second time. That trip took forever, I better get something good outta of this.

Great, now we've gone from a Shadow stalker to a real stalker. Oh wait, it's just a new character alert. You like art huh? Art is an explosion and all that. You know you're Sensei is up to no good right? He's just been using you for his benefit all along. Come on stop playing around and accept the ugly truth.

This is great, we finally have a new target! Oh wait, exams are getting graded. Hope we didn't fail. By the way, that Student Council President is really nosy. I wonder if she'll be important later. Anyways, we've got a mission to do, so no more Mementos for us! I can't wait to get a clear map of the Palace.

Wait why is this so easy? There's like no guards out here. Oh, we haven't really started the infiltration yet. Alright now I take that back. There's guards everywhere, and not many good places to hide. So many lasers and security is...not that hard? At least the guards were dumb enough to unconsciously tell us the password.

Ugh Morgana, you had to go for the shiny vase didn't you? At least after all that climbing, we can finally get to the safe room. Hold up, why can't I go over there? Ugh, stupid cut scene. We just finished beating all these baddies, and now y'all wanna look at a door we can't even open? That's crazy. Ok now we can save our progress, thank goodness.

I guess we gotta work our way into Madarame's old shack. But how—ohh Ann! Yusuke wants you to model for him right? Well, how about you get his attention, so Morgana can get the door open? Aww come on Ann, it's pretty weird, but for the sake of plot just role with it! Alright great! Your sacrifice will never be forgotten, I salute you Lady Ann. Now follow me Ryuji, we've got a Palace to invade!

Yay we finally made it through the door! Huh, there's already a guard there. No way, it's Madarame and 5 other guards. See Yusuke, this dude is crazy. Now level up with your Persona powers, so we can get through the entrance. Whoa, I guess we'll have to come back later.

Oh look, it's later. Hope the guards didn't miss us too much...Never mind this is torture. I thought I could go around or crawl through the vent, but boy was I wrong. Everything's either blocked off my lasers or guards. Or even better, guards and lasers. Like come guys, a whole laser maze, just for me? You shouldn't have.

Am I playing this game for fun, or am I just a masochist?
How am I supposed to get through this? Oh wow I sound like every Shounen character ever haha. Online walkthroughs here I come! Oh, it was the paintings all along, wow I was off.

That's kinda creative for a game though, so I applaud you. Not anymore because dang that red guard was the hardest one yet. He blocked HP, Lunge, and Melee attacks, how I survived I don't know. All that for the control to ask for a new password that I don't know. Wait, I think the guards just said—what do the old guy's feet have to do with anything?

Oh, so I have to go back down to the entrance again? Man no, now all the other guards are gonna regenerate! Alright I looked at Madarame's big statue, now what? Yes, I finally got the code! Let me just sneak by these guards real quick, and bam! Lasers off and gates open. Hold up, that means that they can easily see me, and chase me down! I better hit the R2 dash on this one, I'm not letting all that gameplay go to waste.

Phew, somehow I ran fast enough to get outta there. Ooo now what is this? A safe room at last! Finally I can save my progress and call it a day—it's what! 4 in the am! Oh man, I gotta get to bed. I know I say sleep is for the weak but this is not what I meant! Data saved so let's get to bed to get a few hours of sleep.
