I feel the darkness swallow me whole as I step down deeper and further down the creaky steps. Nothing can be seen as I walk in the scene, so I stumble to the wall as my foot collides with a bag of something.
Startled by this, I quickly switch on the back area light to see, it was just a bag of corn, nothing more to be seen. I scanned the kitchen for food, then slowly moved to my right to retrieve granola bars and cookies, to get me through breakfast during morning classes to come.
Once I successfully open the pantry door undetected, I rummage through the bags of snacks. Then proceed to close the door. But all of a sudden, I though there was someone else standing before me, leading me to silently remove my shaky leg, and retreat back to my room.
Again, I remain lost in the darkness of the back entrance. I collected myself, then tip-toed up the creaky set of stairs. Once I reached the second floor, I walked through the double-doors of the playroom, then crept through the hallway, until I eventually made it back to my room. Happily munching away on my snacks.
