He got me to the hospital in time, it took some substantial effort on the doctors part, but in the end I was fine. I was better than fine actually, Wally loved me, he hadn't left my side since he brought me in, and thankfully he had made sure no one took off my mask. After a day he checked me out and took me the caves infirmary where the team visited me.
"I'm so glad your okay!" Miss M exclaimed.
Everybody else said the same things until Wally made them leave.
"You didn't have to make them go." I said.
"Yeah but I didn't want to do this in front of them." He said as he leaned down to kiss me.
"okay you were right." I smiled.
"Aren't I always?"
"That's a lie and you know it!" I laughed.
"Uh huh." Then he kissed me again.
"I love you." I told him.
"I love you too." He replied.
Someone coughed in the doorway. We looked to see Artemis standing there.
"Well look at the love birds."
I didn't know what to say to her, obviously I felt bad, but I loved him and this was one of the happiest days of my life.
"Artemis." Wally said. "What are you doing here?"
"Visiting a sick friend, you know I really should have known when you broke up with me last week that it was for her." She spat.
"Last week?" I asked.
"Artemis I didn't break up with you for Rikki, I broke up with you because I don't love you anymore, and for that I am deeply sorry. I didn't plan on this, it just happened." Wally explained.
"Don't lie to me Wallace, you dumped me for that tramp!" She yelled.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"That was uncalled for Artemis, I think you should leave."
And with one last glare in my direction she did.
