*Veronica's POV*

Me and Max have been making much progress on controlling my Tiger side. Instead of it moving my body, I have made it clear that it can't control everything, so only I could move it. I do let it out for a bit, so I could have access to the features a normal tiger has.

Once I got it under control, we only spent one hour a day on it and if we had time, we would spent another whole hour with combat training. I haven't been doing it that much because of summer, this new power, and more people finding out my secret, that I haven't paid much attention to it like I use to.

I do hate how much me being the Ultimate/United has taken a huge toll on my life, to the point where I forgot what homework is due on which day, or if I had a quiz or a test is coming up, or a project I had to do. I couldn't do well on the homework or the projects, but the quizzes and tests however where a big and better story.

It was almost the end of the first grading period, which is one of the most stressful times for most people who have parents who care about their children's grades so much. I know the family I live with is a bit like that, but not so strict about it. I know I have decent grades in most of my classes, but science, well not all the time.

"You guys as nervous as I am?" Kimberly asked.

"Is that even possible?" I wanted to joke, noticing that she and I were more calmer than Nico, who was fidgeting with his mechanical pencil and rocking back and forth in his seat.

Our teacher brought back out tests that we had to take before the end of the grading period and will make our grade final on our report card. I took a look like the other two and saw that I got a 47 out of 50. Throughout the whole test I was hoping what Max was saying in my head were the answers. Thank god he was right.

"Ugh! 30 out of 50." Kimberly groaned and bumped her head on the table.

"Oh damn." Nico gasped, but with no happy or upset emotion.

"What did you get?" I asked, curiously.

"43 our of 50." He showed his paper with the score that was written in red pen big on the top right corner of the paper.

"How the hell did I get this grade?" Kimberly looked over her own test instead. "I studied for it everyday!"

"You'll do better on the next one." I say, putting my test in my science folder. She would punch me I said that and she saw the grade I got.

"Yeah, we could even help you." Nico insisted, which I did not argue to not do it, even though I should have.

To be honest I am just glad that the boys and Camila have been busy. For the boys it is not like 6th grade anymore and homework has increased more than they thought, even I thought too.

Camila has thankfully made friends and have been occupied with Alex and a group of girls that she met in both her Science class and Social Studies class. Now it is still me and Max's alone time.

"How the hell did you get those answers anyway?" I wondered as I took a seat on the librarian's desk.

He shrugged, "You know how old she is and looks. She had a actual paper copy of the answers to that test, and other tests and quizzes too."

"That had all the answers to every question?" I asked, unsure if I am hearing incorrectly.

He nodded. "Yup."

"And yet I got a 47 out of 50?"

"You told me to not give you every correct answer or it might create suspicion, and do other things in fact."

I did remember that and when I did I tilt my head with a nod. 'Good point." I looked down to my right hand that did not need anymore coverings.

"Your hand doing okay?" Max asked out of concern.

I sighed. "Yeah I think so. I don't need to keep it covered anymore."

"Let me see." He comes to me and takes it into his which felt warm while he rubbed his thumb over the small scars that were spread around the inside of my palm. I honestly did like how good it felt, having my hand with his.

"Does it hurt?" He whispered.

I shook my head. "No, moving it feels weird though." He let's go as I move my fingers slightly.

"Have you tried anything to help it heal?" He then leaned against one of the tables.

"No, I did just let it out of the bandages."

"Well, you can try something now, to see if your hand still functions correctly." He did have a big point about that and gave me an idea on what I could do.

I simply put my middle finger and thumb together and carefully and gently attempted to snap. It didn't hurt even if I put much pressure into it, but randomly a portal happened to open on the ceiling above the librarian's desk!

"What the-!?" I shouted as Max and I look up at it.

"How did you do that?" Max gasped.

"I don't know! What do I do? How did I even do that?" We took a better look and saw that the portal opened up to a forest. Tall thin grass was poking into the portal and saw birds flying around. There were barely any trees. It did seem like it spawned into a open field.

"I guess snap again?" Max suggested.

I raised a brow. "Really?"

He shrugged. "I don't know! I've never seen anything like this before." It was the only idea we had and I went for it. I carefully positioned my fingers together and snapped, making the portal close, like it was never there.

"Ok, that was something else!" I gasped and leaned against the librarians desk form how being terrified and shaken tired me out.

"Can I see your hand again?" Max randomly asked.

I sigh. "Yeah, I guess, why?" He took another look and made sure that he was deeply looking into my palm.

"I think I know what's going on." He mumbled as he reached behind the desk and took out a random brown toolbox looking leather bag. It did have a flashlight in it, so he could shine it on my hand.

"Oh wow!" I gasped again at the sight of it. Instead of having green or blue coloring on my veins in my palms, they were now purple!

"You see that the scars are purple with this light?" I took a look and saw the same thing. They cuts from the midevil fair soon got turned into scars weren't red or black anymore, but only purple.

"Is that from..?"

"The trapper? Yup." He shut off the light from his palm and took both his hands away from mine.

"So bits and pieces of trapper are inside of my hand now?!" I feel like I shouted from shock.

"Not exactly. The trapper machinery that was taken out must have mixed with your blood when it broke on your hand."

"And now I can just summon portals?!"

He sighed. "I guess so." I checked out my hand with widened eyes, shocked that I didn't have to be born with this to have it. It had to get consumed into my blood!

I checked it out for a while before the book necklace had started to glow. "Oh come on!" I groaned and took it off before I had to enlarge it and set it down on the round tables to check out what spawned now.

"A werewolf?" I questioned, having me and Max wonder why that myth spawned, since it has never been forgotten.
