*Veronica's POV*

After reading through what this werewolf could do and has done it doesn't look like it should be just me and Max on this mission this time. It did make Max more upset than I was. It made sense since I don't hate the others like he does. On Friday, we all met up in the library with questions getting bombarded at me, wondering what monster spawned.

"It is something that we all know, but has different magic features to it." I started off saying.

"Ok, what is it?" Andy asked.

I opened up the book and showed them the page that had a big picture of who we are dealing with and everything written on the page around it.

"A werewolf?" Vince chuckled, looking like it wasn't a big problem.

"So we just need to find a person that turns into one and bam. Monster caught." Adrian said, getting a fist bump from Vince.

"How the heck did you guys get roped into this?" Camila argued as she sat in one of the blue chairs.

"I regret it ever since." Andy mumbled, making sure the two heard it. They did and thankfully did shut up.

"This werewolf doesn't come from a human, but a mutation that is inherited in dogs." I point to the line that said the exact same thing.

"Oh crap." Adrian gasps, as his and Vince's mood changed from joy to anxious.

"So any of our dogs could turn into this!?" Vince clarified, rather loudly then we wanted.

I shrugged. "It doesn't say what breed it could change from, so it is a big possibility." I remembered from last year when I hung out with the boys we talked about pets. Me and Andy don't have one, but Vince and Adrian do. Adrian's got a brown wiener dog and Vince has a golden retriever. That's why I needed them two here. Andy coming would make sure they came.

Vince cleared his throat, not wanting to get or looked all scared. "So what do we do? We can't exactly fight like you can."

"Well, there is something that the dogs can wear to keep them tamed. Jake!" I called out to him.

"I got it," He appeared in front of the librarians desk, and still startled Camila which was a cherry on top.

"I'm never going to get use to that." She mumbled.

"Thank you, Jake." I took the necklaces that he handed to me and had a golden star charm.

"What are these for?" Adrian asked, as I passed them to him and Vince.

"These necklaces gives you an invisible bubble that only activate when you wear them."

"And these can protect our dogs from this monster?" Vince arched a brow with doubt.

I turned to Jake for him to answer. He nodded. "It is a guaranteed chance of protecting them."

"Now you guys need to put it on as soon as you get home." I read again the passage on the bottom of the page. "It says that there can be some changes in a dog before the next full moon."

"And the next full moon is tomorrow." Camila informed us, from looking it up on her phone.

"Well, then we have to go." Vince said, putting on his backpack.

"Yeah, thanks Veronica." Adrian said first.

"Yeah, thanks." Vince didn't look me in the eye that time and rushed out of the library.

It just had to be a three day weekend, so all of us couldn't meet up without our parents being suspicious for a longer period of time. If we did, they would have to chaperone us.

We now had a group chat that now involved Camila, which got Max even more mad than when I had to be in one with who he call "useless human boys." We got updates about how Vince and Adrian's dogs have been, and thankfully they have been doing okay. Even though it is the day of the full moon, they are still acting like their fun and friendly selfs.

I did ask Max to look around the local dog pounds around us incase any of them had any dogs that acted strangely. He did take breaks and inform me if there was anything weird going on. There were times where we ended up talking a bit longer than we had to, then he went back to looking out. It was nice that I get to talk about anything else with someone who isn't just interested in being my friend because I can do magic.

Before middle school I always slept in and never liked waking up on time. Now I hate waking up any later than 9 am in the morning. I also hate going to be late, unless it is the weekend, then I would sleep at 11 or 12, no later. On weekdays I would sleep at 10. That's one of many reasons why I like weekends.

I slept for like 2 hours before I heard someone trying to wake me up. I thought it was Camila at first, but I then heard a male voice, and thought it was her dad. I opened my eyes and saw that it was really Max who was trying to wake me up.

"Max?" I whispered, confused and still trying to wake up. "What's up? What time is it?"

"4:35. I found where the werewolf is." He whispered back.

I took a look in front of me and saw that Camila was deeply sleeping with her phone still in her hand from watching YouTube videos.

"Where?" I asked.

"I'll show you, come on." Max rushed out of the room, without needing the bedroom door to be opened. I for one had to slowly get off my bed with only a few creaks coming out from one of the corners that thankfully did not wake up Camila, it did make her stir, but not wake her up though.

I managed to get to my closet and grab my tenis shoes and my black jean jacket. I did have to get through another obstacle and tip toe my way to the door. The apartment like house just had to come with a room with a squeaky brown carpeted floor that can be heard in our room and Eliana's room also. After living in this apartment for 6 years me and Camila have figured out ways to walk around it.

When I made it out of the room I softly closed the door behind me and made my way to the kitchen in the dark. . It wasn't your tipicle backyard though. It was mainly a space with a stone floor, fence around it that had our loud neighbors on the other side and leafs and rocks scattered around.

"You ready?" I heard Max whisper from behind me.

I turned startled and did nod with a sigh. "Yeah. You know where I have to go?"

"Yup and by portal too." He smiled as he took out not a simple piece of paper, but a picture of the back of a dog pound.

"No coordinates?" I questioned while I took it.

"Coordinates were for the trapper. You don't know what the coordinates are to everything. But can picture places in your mind."

My eyebrow raised in doubt. "You think it will work?"

He shrugged. "Doesn't hurt to try." He did have point and the only way we could think of to arrive at the dog pound.

I took a good look at the picture than set it in my pocket before I start envisioning the image in my mind. I brought out my right hand and circled it to the right, making light blue coloring form into a portal that had the image of the dog pound backside like the picture.

"Oh wow!" I gasped, as quietly as I could. "I actually did it!" I wanted to shout out loud.

"Now let's go, before any those stupid neighbors come out." Max reminded me and did make me rush to get this over with, so I could go back to sleep.
