*Veronica's POV*

I checked around my surroundings as I rushed to the cardio room to see what Max was planning. I haven't been in there because of everything that has been going on. I was thinking about all the things we have been training on and did connect them with the cardio room. The weights could help me build more muscle for my combat training or even make my tiger side more powerful. It doesn't feel like it needs to be.

I got to the front of the cardio room, seeing the windows covered with grey curtains which I didn't know the school had. I did leave the keys back in the exercise room when I knew I wouldn't have to use them again. My 6th grade PE teacher was looking for it and didn't suspect me at all. Big surprise there.

I knew Max would unlock the cardio room door and when I opened the door with the lights already on.

"Max?" I shouted and continued to look around. The weights were in the back corner like always, the punching bag and pull up bar were near the front door like always, what did Max want to do. The windows next to the front door were also covered with curtains. That continued to confuse me.

"It's nothing too big." Max appeared standing in front of the scary rock climbing wall.

"If it involves pull ups or anything to do with those weight balls, I already have all that covered." I mentioned.

"Actually it doesn't involve any of that, but it does involve this..." He backs up and had to point to that stupid rock climbing wall.

"Oh heck no!" I shouted, instinctively stepping back.

Max looked at me confused. "Why not?"

I scoffed. "I just don't like the idea of balancing on one pretend rock that could fall off of the wall at any minute."

"Well, will it make you feel better if I tell you that, that none of that won't happen?"

I frowned at him. "I already heard that from many people in my PE classes, even the teachers, and yet I still don't care and I'm still scared of it."

"But it's me, Veronica." Max had a firm tone and serious tone. "And I know you better than anyone about what you are capable of and I know that you are more than capable of climbing up this wall."

"Oh really? And how's that?" I asked, crossing my arms, already feeling my stomach getting in knots.

"How do you think you can do all those flips and tricks without any trouble?" He argued.

I shrugged. "I always thought it was because of my ice powers."

Max just stood silently and nodded. That made me more terrified. I asked, "And I'm guessing that isn't it?"

"That's really what you thought?" Max asked with a snicker.

I nodded. "Yeah. How else would I be able to do them?" I doubt tigers would automatically know how to do flips, unless they were trained to at a young age. But I my tiger side hadn't woken up when I did them last year. What made me do these tricks?

It was like Max was reading my mind when he answered with, "It's actually coming from what some of you humans call 'angels'."

I scoffed back at him with so much doubt. "Wait what?!" I could not believe the words that came out of his mouth, even though I can make weapons out of literal ice from my own hand.

Max just stood and nodded confidently. "The only reason why I am here is because of the angelic plane that I am crossing which is being supported by the angelic powers that you seem to have as well."

"How the heck did I even get them anyway?!" I meant to shout.

He didn't give a good answer since he just shrugged. "Me and even Jake don't know that answer yet, but we do know that it is not as powerful and big as your ice and tiger sides."

"Okay, do you know what my now 'angelic' powers can make me do?"

"They can enhance your ability to do all sorts of flips and rolls without getting anything injured. You basically alter the wind around you to cause less risk of damage than you would normally."

"How does any of that involve the cardio room or the rock climbing wall?"

"Oh you'll see. Now come on up and give it a try." He patted on the wall cushion.

Just looking at the dark blue cushioned wall, those colored fake rocks stuck all through out. It made me have shaky breathing and imagine myself missing a rock and tumbling down.

"You better catch me when I fall." I demanded as I walked up to the left and beginning of it.

Max laughed. "Oh trust me. You will catch yourself, but of course I will."

I put my right foot on the first rock of the bottom before I took a hold onto the rock right above me.

"You got it?" Max asked with his hand on my back for support.

"Uh Yeah, I think so." I grunted as I was surprisingly able to raise myself up.

I gasped out of shock and amazed on how high up I was, from where I was standing and where I was looking. "Oh wow! I actually did it!"

"Yup." Max laughed. "Now go further, so you can try a trick."

My smile went down immediately after hearing that. "What trick?!"

He shrugged yet again. "Just a simple barrel roll, or an egg roll, something like that."

"An egg roll?" I asked. Isn't that more of a food?

He then mentioned, "I looked it up and saw that, that was one of the kinds of tricks living beings can do."

All I did was sighed and wanting to move on now. "Okay, fine."

I set my left foot on a blue rock in front of me and my left hand on a yellow rock for me to get a good enough grip to make me move. I ended up setting my right foot right next to my left leg and on the red fake rock also next to it. God this is taking so long. I could think that Max is getting impatient. My anxiety is making my breathing heavy, remembering the picture of me tumbling down from the wall.

"Okay, do I have to go to the middle, because it's going to take a long while!" I shouted.

"Okay, okay. I guess. You can try a trick." That is when my chest felt tight.

Everything went shaky. Breathing became heavy. While the image kept going and going in my mind. I could not stop my heavy breathing from coming and going.

"Max, I-" I couldn't say anything, but wanted too. I wanted to say "I can't" or "No." I don't know why.

"Veronica, it's all right. I'm here." "I'm here." Is all what repeated in my mind now. Someone was actually there for me. It made all of the weight lifted off my shoulders and even my breathing slow down.

"Okay, okay. I'm doing it." I say and bent both my knees and gripped on good pretend rocks, knowing what kind of trick I wanted to do before I went for it.

My left hand let go first for that arm to support me as I jumped down on to the mat that Max put out for me. I felt a bit of wind hit my face when everything went so fast. The next thing I knew my arm landed and bent with my whole body flipping to my right that lead me to my feet on the actual ground.

"That was awesome!" Max said first. I had to catch my breath before saying anything.

When I did I slowly stood up from crouching down. "That was something alright." I wiped my hands from any dirt that could have came from the fake rocks or the ground.

"Want to go again?" Max asks now crossing his arms.

I can't believe I said this but, "Sure!"
