*Veronica's POV*

The dog came to a sudden stop with it's arms, legs, and head acting weird. Even with the commotion from the dog cages banging and barking me and Max could hear bones crackling and sounded like they could be breaking in the black furred dog.

"What the-?" I whispered, as the banging on the cages and barking from the dogs died down, and even backed away as the dog's limbs and head moved in all sort of directions to make room for it to grow. The bones soon broke in a way where it was visible to the human eye. You could see it through the dogs arm, one of it's legs, and sticking out of his neck. All of it made the dog grow larger and larger to the point where it was human size, even thought it didn't look human at all.

"Veronica, now!" I heard Max shout. I stood stunned from shock at how big the dog became, the paws had sharp claws, the feet also had claws as well. The mouth was huge with sharp teeth, and the eyes glowed bright red.

"RAWWRRRRRR." It shouted with it's snout going up towards the roof like a dog howling does, but this one rawred, and wanted to eat human now.

Before it could come to close to me, I turned as I heard big foot steps coming towards me when I twisted my right hand to open the portal to a forest. I didn't care if it was far from me than I thought, I jumped into the portal and ran like I have never had before. After running a few feet out and only hearing the growling being faint, I turned and saw the the werewolf was just coming out of the portal.

When he was fully out and in the forest I closed it, not caring if Max was through. He probably was. I was suspecting the werewolf would run off from me not being in his eye line so much, so I shouted. "Come at me!" As loud as I could and even loud enough that it's eyes darted towards me so he could rush to get me. I turned back around and started to bolt further into the forest.

I could see only a few feet in front of me, which gave me a leg up and help me around the forest and not have me trip on anything. The growling and roaring was not helping. I could see in a faint distance that the werewolf's arms were big and strong enough to tear branches and anything big out of the ground and trees and launch it to me. I started to get tired, sweaty above my anxiousness and fear that I had to get somewhere where I can separate myself from me and the monster.

I couldn't find anything that could help, but the trees were promising enough to help me conduct a plan. I remembered that I had some tricks up my sleeve from my last few fights, especially my first one. I looked for a strong, but thin enough tree to launch myself onto one and climb up with my tiger claws that I prayed would appear and clench into the tree bark. I tried to force my feet against the tree to help me climb up. I glanced back down, hearing the werewolf stomps fading since he was right below me growling to get me.

I couldn't look back down again and just had to get up on a tree. My claws were deep into the tree bark as I took one hand out and lifted the other higher up. I was close enough to attempt to grab a branch, but I now regret choosing a thin tree like this one, since the branch where I reached to snapped when I had my grip on to it and made me fall a few inches down. I didn't care about the branch to let it go and clenched my claws back in the tree hoping that I was still high above the werewolf. I was proven wrong when I felt a sharp sting in my left shin that made me look back down and saw that the werewolf's claw dug into it!

"OWWWW!" I shouted and continue to scream, that didn't just make my lungs and throat dry, but tossed the werewolf on to it's back. It didn't stop the burning and stinging from the big cut. I couldn't care about it and had to climb up away from the werewolf.

"RawrRRRRRR!" I heard from below me. I had to look down and saw that the werewolf was slowly recovering and starting to get up. What didn't help was my vision starting to get all blurry and a bit hazy that I couldn't tell what hand was higher than the other.

"VERONICA, HANG ON!" I heard a person yell, that made me glance down again and saw that it was really Max, who happened to start fighting the werewolf himself. I heard faint groans and grunts from him and at the same time I heard the werewolf rawr and whine from him attacking.

I didn't have enough strength to keep my claws in the tree bark, with them slowly loosing my grip and falling out for me to also fall down the tree.

"Woah, woah." I fell into set of arms and saw from my blurred vision a face looking strangely like Max. "Veronica?" His voice was faint. He laid me down on my back which made my wounded foot hit the ground, and caused more burning and stinging that made me wince.

"What hurts?" Max asks.

"My...my foot." I clung to Max's shirt from the pain as he took a look at my left foot.

"Damn it." He whispered. "Okay, we're going to get you out of here."

"The...werewolf." I managed to say.

"It's okay. It's gone." Max got me back up on my foot with my left one a few inches from the ground. I had my arm around Max's neck and his around my hip as he raised his other hand to open a portal? I didn't have any strength to ask. I just let it be for now.

Max lead me through it and lead to the school's computer room, well from my blurred vision I can see the TV on the wall, the big grey and green couch, and the green swivel chairs that came along with the grey tables.

"Jake!" Max shouted with Jake appearing in the tech teacher's room.

"What happened?" He asked as he came out and put on light blue rubber gloves.

"That werewolf put his claws in Veronica's left foot. I think it's making her faint."

"Well you need to keep her awake. She could be in shock too." At that point I did feel my eyelids getting heavy and couldn't feel my feet or anything.

"Veronica, Veronica stay awake!" Max's voice echoed in my head from him yelling. I wish I could, but I didn't have the strength to do so.
