My name is Theodore Edwards, Theo for short, and I'm twenty-one years young. I like to think I'm pretty lucky — I have an angelic boyfriend with the most sparkling diamond eyes and luscious caramel locks, an immense passion and devotion to the inexplicably complex art of baking and a supportive family of loving parents and a, uh, tolerable sister — but that's just my opinion. Others are allowed to be wrong (seriously).
I had spent the week dancing around the city of Aiwiy, a bustling but beautiful place that I am happy to have discovered is home to my now-boyfriend, Castiel White, venturing on various dates and housing tender moments with him in my apartment — in between glancing in windows as I procured numerous Christmas gifts for my family. After watching my them and my angel unwrapping their presents with such glee, and filling the holiday with unforgettable memories, I now understood why people put themselves through such extreme stress for one single day.
In case you haven't realised by now, I love Christmas. For me, this time of year was the perfect way of expressing my appreciation and how much people meant to me. I spent the majority of it together with the ones I loved and laughing until I could barely breathe, developing my interests and finding new ones. That's not to say I always loved Christmas. I never really got it before; never really felt that magical Christmas spirit... that sparkle. Thanks to Cas, that had all changed. He'd lit that spark in my heart and nurtured it into a magical explosion of vibrant colours and incredible warmth. Now I couldn't remember feeling any other way.
However, every story has an end, and every end has a beginning. My story is no different. The days following our late-night picnic on Christmas Day, leading up to New Year's, are a blissful blur of smiles and laughs; a time of 'Chrimbo Limbo', according to the radio. We start, as you'd expect, at the beginning of the end...

Cas and I strolled in through my parent's front door, hand in hand as we declared our official status as boyfriends. My parents were delighted, though they didn't waste any time in giving the stereotypical "use protection" shtick...
"Now, make sure you're careful," Mum affirmed as she released me and Cas from a tight hug, and I rolled my eyes. "Don't be silly, wrap your—"
"Mum, I swear to god, do not finish that sentence!" I seethed and Cas looked like he wanted to melt into the carpet. "We're not kids."
She smiled teasingly and cackled.
"I'm happy for you bud," Dad grinned and patted me on back. "Make sure you take care of him, anything you do to him I'll do to you."
"That's... worrying..." Cas mumbled and Chloe choked on a laugh, snorting as she tried to catch her breath.
"You might want to rethink that phrase..." I mused and he scratched his stubble, realising the connotations of his words.
I brooded the entire time, not at all salty about the fact my parents were more concerned about Cas than they were about me. Cas' bright blush and shy smile made me feel worlds better, though.
Chloe was ecstatic for us, though not at all surprised, and later pulled me aside for all the "deets" about our picnic as she dragged me upstairs.
"How was it? Did you like his haircut? Where did you take him?" Chloe bombarded me with questions and I rolled my eyes. "Tell me everything!"
"I've seen enough of your Wattpad stories from when we were younger to know not to share anything that happened." I retorted and she huffed. "What happened between me and Cas is for us to know and for you to never find out. All you need to know is that we had a lovely time and I take back everything mean I said about your hairdressing skills."
