Oh my god...

I couldn't believe I was actually going to be hanging out with that cutie I met the other day. The moment we met had been playing in my head all night long, the way his eyes sparkled like diamonds amongst the fluffy snow and his locks of caramel caressed his face...

Even his name sounded amazing.

Castiel...

I loved the way it rolled off the tongue, it was both soothing and oh-so-angelic all at the same time! However, to say I wasn't a little worried—which is not like me at all—would be a blatant lie. Those last words I sent last night were still left on read. 'It's a date.' I'd had the luck to be rather skilled in the arts of understanding forms of sarcasm, facial expressions and colloquial language since my inception. But Castiel did not seem to be as apt. Henceforth, I couldn't truly figure out if he had understood that I had asked him out on a date, kind of date. After all, it's a common phrase used by people.

All those thoughts were racing through my mind as I stood outside the bookstore in my trusty leather jacket. It was becoming horribly late and I'd begun to think that maybe he'd had second thoughts but, just as I began to consider leaving, I heard a familiar commotion down the path. There was Castiel, muttering apologies as he bumped into people and narrowly dodged other hurried pedestrians before finally arriving at the familiar double doors. As he went to slow down to a halt, he slipped on some ice and began tumbling to the ground. I leapt into action and—rather smoothly if I may say so myself—caught him in my arms. He glanced up at me, shocked and surprised, and I couldn't help the amused expression spreading across my face.

"Um, hey," Castiel whispered and I smiled.

"Hey, yourself." I teased. "We have got to stop meeting like this." In an instant a blush creep flushed his cheeks and he tried to hide it in the collar of his denim jacket.

He looked incredible. His features were a little rosy from the cold, his hair dotted with snow as his fringe poked out from his signature beanie. His gorgeous eyes stared up at me as he panted a little, trying to comprehend what had happened and incredibly flustered.

"Er, t-thank you for catching me, I'm fine now," Castiel replied and went to move away but my grip tightened, "Um, you can let go of me now, I won't fall." He continued and looked up at my face.

"I could indeed, but I'm not sure I want to. You look so adorable when you blush." I smirked and I watched him turn as red as a Christmas bauble.

I chuckled, released him and set him gently onto his feet before ruffling his fringe.

"I wasn't blushing, my cheeks are cold is all!" Castiel pouted and I bit my lip as I attempted to stifle the laugh that threatened to escape my lips.

I then led us towards a steel-coloured Audi and he stopped in his tracks, gawking at it with awe. Even in the snow, the paint sparkled. Castiel looked at the interior in a way that was reminiscent of a kid looking at a new toy at Christmas and it occurred to me that he might not be as financially fortunate as I was. I immediately felt a little bad.

"Do you like it?" I asked and walked around to the driver's door, opening it. Castiel nodded. "Glad to hear it. Hop in and we can get going!" I exclaimed and got in, taking a seat. Castiel soon followed as he buckled his seat belt and felt a surge of excitement.

"S-So where is this café you mentioned last night? Is it close by?" He inquired and I was pleasantly surprised to see him initiate a conversation himself, settling the curiosity and nerves in the back of my head.

"It's in a quieter part of Aiwiy. It's quite close by but I thought we'd take my car since it's bloody freezing outside and cabs are quite busy this time of year." I informed him with a sheepish grin and he giggled for reasons not even he could seemingly explain.
