Chapter Twenty-One

Tyler had taken me home to get dressed. I got ready for the funeral like he did before we got to my place. Afterwards we went to Elena's. I left him with Stefan, Damon, and Jeremy while I went to check on Elena.

When I saw her she was sitting on her bed, holding an envelope. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her. "Thank you," she whispered.

"No problem," I whispered back, rocking her in my arms. After a few moments I let her go and we joked around like old times. We complimented each other before heading downstairs to the boys. "Ready handsomes?" I asked them all. Ric in the room now with Jenna. ALong with Bonnie who was in Jeremy's arms.

I told Matt about the funeral and told him he was going for support. He thankfully agreed and he was picking up Caroline and was going to meet us there. Damon worked it all out so John's grave was by her parents.

Elena stood still until Stefan went over to her and wrapped an arm around her. They headed out first and then Ric did with Jenna. Next was Damon, who left awkwardly. Jeremy and Bonnie next, wrapped in each other's arms. Finally, I turned to Tyler, putting out a hand for him to grab. He took my hand and walked out with me. It was going to be a long day. But I wasn't going to let us all stay sad.

Everyone stood back as Elena placed a rose on John's grave followed by her parents. I noticed Damon missing which made me upset. I didn't care that Elena was mad at him. He needed to be here for support.

"Why so far away?" I asked him.

"She doesn't need me there."

"She does. Now, give me your hand and put that smile on your face. I need you here with me," I said, tugging him back to everyone as it was time to leave now. Everyone placed down roses and was there for support for Elena and Jeremy.

Once he was brought back to everyone, Stefan wrapped an arm around his brother while Elena walked off with hers. Matt and Care were together with Bonnie and Ty. Ric and Jenna were heading out too. It was time to go. I rushed over to Ty and grabbed his hand. "Ready?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he muttered. And with that we followed after everyone else to end this sad grieving day. I was going to spend it with my boyfriend and give Elena time to herself today. Tomorrowthough I was going to make a good day, for sure.

Before I knew it I was at Tyler's laying on the couch with my back to his chest as we cuddled. Everything was going to be fine and I knew it. Today wasn't that good of a day but last night we won. Klaus died. John did too but for a great cause.

"Ty," I giggled as he tickled me some more. The movie was finally over and I refused to get up to put on another.

"Come on, watch out. Let me up," he chuckled.

"Only if you say the magic word."

"Please?"

"The magic words," I emphasized.

"I love you," he whispered in my ear, nibbling on my earlobe afterwards. I giggled and got up. I put on another movie and then went to get us something to drink. I was happy with Ty. When we spent time together, everything was always perfect. It was the moment I left and came back when things changed.

While Tyler was engrossed with the action movie I was talking to Caroline about how we were going to get everyone together tomorrowto celebrate. I was thinking party at Damon's. You know cake, movies, games, alcohol, and whatever else. I wanted to have a good time where all of us friends could get together, forgive one another and be one big happy family. Even if some of them were only doing it to make me or Elena happy.
