Chapter Three
I sipped on my tea while I listened to Damon and Carol talk. She had invited him over to discuss all things vampires. Damon pulled me into the study to listen in on everything. He informed Carol that we were partners in everything and I knew all about the town's problems. "Yeah, Georgie's usually with me and when I'm on a quest to kill vampires she's kind of there with me," Damon told Carol, explaining a bit why I knew.
"Well, as long as she's with you and she's safe," Carol said skeptically.
"I'll be safe. Plus because I know I can keep all my friends, including your son, out of danger," I added and she smiled.
"Thank you," she replied gratefully and I nodded. She took a seat on the other side of Damon and poured all three of us cups of tea.
"So I understand John Gilbert has left town," Carol began. "Have they found the vampire that attacked him?"
"Well the sherriff asked me to take the lead on that. And I promise you, I will get to the bottom of it."
"Which brings me to my next subject. WIth Richard gone, I'll be acting as interim mayor until the elections. And I'm going to need someone to spearhead the Council."
"Hmm," Damon nodded.
"I'd like that person to be you," she stated. Seriously? Damon seriously has everyone fooled. Of course that's a good thing but the irony of it all becomes too much and it gets quite hilarious for me and probably Damon himself.
"Whatever you need, Carol," Damon replied. "As a founding family member, it's something that's very close to me so I would be honored to keep this town safe from vampires."
Suddenly we heard someone laughing. I sighed and put down my cup. "Oh, jeez," I heard Tyler say. I got to my feet and smiled at the adults.
"I'll keep them out of here, continue," I said, heading to the door and shutting it on my way out. I'd get Damon to tell me everything I missed later. Mason was laughing and hit Tyler playfully on the back. "What was that, like seven?" Tyler asked.
I walked over to him and when he spotted me he grinned, leaning on a table and looking to his right at me. "Six. I don't count the last one," Mason answered Ty.
"Hey baby," I greeted, walking over to my sexy and shirtless boyfriend. He stood up straight and gave me a peck on the lips. He was all red and sweaty. I hope that run did him some good. "He practically crawled out last lap," Mason told me.
"What?" Ty frowned.
"I think Grandma Lockwood actually passed you. In her walker," Mason teased. Standing up and no longer leaning down with his hands on his knees. He imitated being in a walker and I laughed lighly, rubbing Ty's arms as he placed his hands on the small table and leaned against it again. "Yeah. Okay. Shoes off. Mud. My mom," Ty warned, bringing a hand across his throat.
I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Cool. Yeah, yeah," Mason said, sitting down and taking off his shoes.
"Give me a hand, Georgie?" Tyler asked. I smiled and let him go, leaning down to untie his shoes for him.
"So all this anger and aggression you were talking about," Mason began. "You notice a difference when you excercise?
"Dude I play three varsity sports. I work out four times a week and run three. I'm gonna say no," Tyler said, scoffing. I pulled Tyler's shoes off with his cooperation and he muttered a thanks before pulling me to my feet.
