This is a continuation of the first ending aka the 'canon' storyline. It's my personal take on how I think the start of season 5 could be like so technically speaking nothing from here onwards is canon.

Narrator's POV

(I listened to 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' by Metallica while writing this bit)

Silence, that's the only thing that can be heard in the upside down, a lifeless body lies on the ground, abandoned, left to rot, covered in blood. The people that cared for him are long gone, they tried to stay, and they tried to save him, but they failed.

Or at least that's what they thought.

But after two days of being dead, after two days of being nothing but a corpse, he was raised from his eternal sleep. You may not recognise him at first, but I assure you it's still him. His eyes open wide, the brown in them being replaced now with dark red ones, he had grown fangs as well, his nails are now claws, his skin is completely pale, and the injuries which once killed him are now covered in scars. The blood in his veins was not the same, he wasn't a human anymore, he wasn't the man he used to be, he had been reborn as a vampire.

He sat up looking around the dark and empty place.

"Is anyone there?" He asked, "Y/n! Y/n, Where are you?! What's going on?"

And then it hit him. Who's Y/N?

He can't remember anything about himself, who he is, where he is, and what is going on. He tries to remember how he got here but his mind is blank, there's nothing in it, nothing except for two names, Eddie and Y/n. Who are they? Why can't he remember anything? Why is there nothing he can remember?

"I see you've awakened, Kas," A deep voice says.

He turns around and sees a tall figure walking towards him, one would never imagine it was once a human due to how disturbing it looks, he feels familiar with the thing, as if he's met it before, but he isn't sure why as there are no memories of it in his brain, then again there isn't much in his brain, he can't recall anything from his life, he feels as if old memories are swimming around in his mind yet he can't reach any of them.

"Who are you? Where am I?" Kas asked looking up at the creature.

"You can call me Vecna, and you're in the upside-down" the creature explained.

"Who am I?" he questioned to himself and the monster.

"You're Kas, my lieutenant," Vecna told him.

"I don't understand, why can't I remember anything?"

"There's nothing you need to remember, all you need to know is what I've told you," Vecna said, lying to him right in his face. Of course he had something to remember, if anything he had everything to remember, but he needed Kas to forget everything, he needed him to be his pawn.

"Who are Eddie and Y/n?" he asked.

Vecna moved his hand on top of Kas's head, he needed to make sure he didn't remember anything from the past, otherwise, it could jeopardise his plan.

"Well, I've never heard the name Eddie before," he said burying Kas's memories deeper into his mind, "Y/n on the other hand, now that is someone very important, you need to find him"

As Kas's past life was locked away so was his humanity, the love he once felt disappeared and he lost himself without being able to put up a fight.

"What do you need him for?" Kas asked standing up and grabbing the shield with spikes. The light in his eyes had finally disappeared and Eddie Munson, the Eddie we once knew had died.
