Chapter 9 - Samantha

Mickey's Diner.

I look at the neon sign board and hope everything goes well at this new job.

After I got home quickly thanks to the Greek gods, I was able to sleep for an hour which really helped and then I freshened up. I got ready, a full sleeves top and knee length skirt which is the uniform at Mickey's. I covered any visible bruises on my legs and tiptoed my way out of the house as dad was sleeping on the couch after he had his little drunk fit.

"Hello honey. I am very happy to see you. Noah will help you get started. I am in the back if you need anything. Good luck dear."
John said giving me a warm smile.

"Hi John. Thankyou." I gave him a happy smile and went to Noah who told me that people will be just coming in from now on and he will help me with my first table and then I can carry on with it on my own and he will be at the register till John comes from the back.

"Happy to have you Sam!" He gives me a playful smile and winks at me. I give him a shy nod.

An old couple come in. They give us a smile and Noah gestures me to come with him. I notice how every table has a number and he seats them accordingly. He hands them the menu and asks them if they will need some time to order and he should come back or whether he should wait. The older couple asks him for two sweet teas first and to come back so that they can order the meals.

He gives them a warm smile and goes back near the register and tells Max the order. Max is in his fifties and is another teddy bear who yells out an okay and get on with it. There is also Kai and Kajal who handles the cooking part. They are both Asians and the cutest couple.

People are coming in now as the sky darkens and I greet them with a smile while seating them.

Its been really good so far.

I hear the jingle as the door is opened and I stand there a little surprised.

Aidan & Elijah.

Their reactions tells me they are also a little surprised to see me here. They are looking really handsome. They both are just wearing hoodie and sweats with some accesories.

I stop ogling them and greet them with a smile.

"Hi."

"Hey Sam! Didn't expect to see you here." Aiden was the first to respond.

I am not sure if it was just my imagination or I saw Elijah looking at me from head to toe and muttering something as if he was affected.

Knowing the chances of them thinking I am hot is impossible I get them seated and hand over the menu.

Aiden grabs the menu from me slightly brushing our fingers and God save me from the unholy thoughts I got from looking at those veins on his hand.

I have never had a boyfriend or friends who had boyfriends. Sometimes I would listen to the popular girls telling about how steamy their night was in the washroom with each other but I have never once felt anything like this.

I felt eyes on me and looked at Elijah to see he was looking at me with a small smirk as if he could hear my thoughts.

He slightly held my palm and said, "Your cheeks are all red. Are you okay Sam?"

He is teasing me. I cough and take my hand away from him muttering a 'i am okay' to which both of them laugh. They ordered burgers, fries and some drinks.

I got their order ready and went back to the section to see John talking to them.

"If it isn't my favourite duo! How are you boys? Is your uncle in town?"

"We are good John. No he'll be here only next month"

"That man is ugh.."
John sensed me coming and smiled at me.

"Hey dear, how is it going so far?"

"Really good John, Thankyou"

"You met the boys? They are in the same school."

"We have met Sam, John." Aiden grins at me.

I mirror his smile. John looks between us and tells me , "Why don't you sit with them and have something honey. The crowd is less now, Noah can manage and this is your first day I'll get you a burger as well it's on the house!"

Before I can politely deny him he has reached the register.

A hand pulls me to a seat. I look up to see it's Aiden.

"You look pretty Sam." He gives me a smile as he tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear and looks at me with adoration.

Oohh. Deja vu.

Not sure how to respond I just settle with a thankyou. Something in me tells that I'll be having more trouble controlling their effect on me.
