Warm.
The living room is cozy and warm.
"Thats good baby?" I ask looking at the precious woman beside me.
"Mhmmm" Sam moans.
Our beautiful wife, heavily pregnant is currently munching on some chicken nuggets while I am packing the essentials in our emergency bags since she is due this week and Eli is in the kitchen preparing some dinner.
She is wriggling on the couch trying to find a comfortable position while Coco circles around her whimpering.
My poor baby.
"Do you want me to pile some more cushions love?" I ask as she gets up slowly.
"Ohh!" She says suddenly holding her bump.
"What is it Sam?" I ask panicked.
"My water just broke." She murmurs looking at me shocked.
Oh fuck. Its time.
"Eli! we need to take her to the hospital! Now!" I shout.
He comes out of the kitchen quickly and looks over her.
I quickly grab Coco and drop her at our neighbours and run back.
"Come on darling" Eli holds out his hand as I grab the the bags and car keys.
She makes a pained sound clutching her bump.
I look back at her worried and she mumbles, "Contractions"
I run towards the car as I settle the bags and start the car while Eli comes with Sam after locking the door.
Sam sits behind with Eli as I drive the car to the hospital. I pull up macys contact letting her know that we are going to the hospital.
"Okay guys. We will be there soon. Take care of Sam okay!" Macy says a little panicked and excited.
"Yeah" I reply as I end the call.
Sam is breathing heavily, her face twisted in pain. I drive as quickly and safely as possible.
"Hang in there baby" Eli murmurs.
"We're almost there, right?" Sam asks while gritting her teeth trying to stay calm despite the pain.
"Yeah, just a few more minutes, love." I reply looking at her pained expression.
Sam grips Eli's hand tightly, her knuckles turning white.
I quickly pull up at the hospital entrance. I get out of the car helping Sam as we make our way inside.
Nurses rush out as they see us and assist Sam inside.
We both squeeze her hands softly.
"It will be okay baby, we are here, we are always here and we love you so much." Eli says placing a kiss on her forehead.
