Chapter 3: Party Invitation?

Tris POV:
When I walk into the room for my 2nd period class, my eyes come across something weird. My ex-boyfriend Peter. Ugh, he just had to go to the same school as me!!

I shake off the thought of him being here and face the front of the room, towards the board. Ms. Mathews is writing our partners for the semester and the pairs were:

Cara-Robert
Lynn-Zeke
Marlene-Will
Shauna-Peter
Tris-Al
Lauren-Eric
Edward-Susan

I am beyond pissed that I, out of all people, got Peter for a partner. As I make my way over to my seat, Peter stands up and pulls out my chair for me.

"Hey Trissy" he says annoyingly.

"Peter, don't call me that!! We're not together so stop trying to talk to me!! God, give me some space!!" I whisper-shouted.

"Alright, whatever you want Trissy" he says while rolling his eyes.

Now you know why we broke up. Because of his bitchy attitude.
(Imagine Tris looking like this: 😏😑, 😂😂😂😂😂)

Suddenly Ms. Mathews starts today's lesson, immediately after the bell rings.

The bell rings for us to leave and I exit the classroom and make my way to the exit of the school. While I'm walking, my phone vibrates in my pocket. I stop and take my phone out. The message is from Christina.

(Italics- Chris, Bold- Tris)

Hey you wanna go shopping? Since we have free period?

Ugh!! I hate shopping!!

Oh come on Tris. Just this once!! Pleaseeee!!!??

Alright Fine......but I'm not buying anything!!!

Yea you are!! See you in 15!!

Kay see ya..

Bye!!

I forgot that I was in the middle of the hallway while I was replying to Christina. When someone's shoulder bumps into my arm. The person was Four.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry" I say nervously since we are now face to face.

"It's fine, no broken bones right" he chuckles with a smile.

"I hope not" I laugh nervously, with a small smile escaping my mouth.

"See you around Prior" he shouts over his shoulder.

"Bye" I reply in a small voice.

As I reach my car, I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm having a party this Friday!! And that you will need my number for the details and stuff" he says while rubbing the back of his neck. And he lifts his eyes to mine.

"Umm..." I stutter. Keep yourself together Tris, God!!

"Yea, I would love to! Thanks!" I finish quickly than I wanted to with a sigh of relief.

"Ok cool" he replies as he hands me a piece of paper with his number on it.

We look at each other for a few minutes, not sure what to say. Finally, I break the silence.

"Well I better go, I have to meet Christina" I say nervously, even though I wanted to stay with him longer.

"Ok, see you Friday" he says and jogs towards the other exit.

Four's POV:
I just came from Physics and I was walking towards my locker when I accidentally bump someone in the arm.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry" she says as if it's her fault, even though it's not. But it's cute how she took the blame and...Stay focused Four!! I can tell that she's really nervous.

"It's fine, no broken bones right" I chuckle while trying to lighten the mood.

"I hope not" she says with a smile escaping her lips.

"See you around Prior" I shout over my shoulder, as I exit the school on the opposite side.

I believe that she said something, but I was too far away to make out her words. Suddenly, I remember that I'm having a party on Friday and that I would like, wait no, love for her to come. So, I jog my way over to her.

Once I reach Tris, I lightly put a hand on her shoulder.

"Sorry, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm having a party this Friday!! And that you will need my number for the details and stuff" I say while rubbing the back of my neck. And I lift my eyes to hers.

"Umm..." she stutters with a nervous tone.

"Yea, I would love to! Thanks!" she finishes quickly with a sigh of relief.

"Ok cool" I reply as I hand her a piece of paper from my notebook with my number on it.

We look at each other for a few minutes, not sure what to say. Finally, she breaks the silence.

"Well I better go, I have to meet Christina" she says quickly, even though I wish she would have stayed longer.

"Ok, see you Friday" I reply and I jog towards the other exit.

Tris POV:
OMG!! FOUR JUST INVITED ME TO HIS PARTY ON FRIDAY!! AND I GOT HIS NUMBER TOO!! This day couldn't get any better than its been!!

When I finally arrive at my car, I do a quick 'Tris Happy Dance' in my seat. Then, I rev up the engine in my pink Cadillac and I drive out of the school's parking lot. I can't wait to tell Christina the exciting news!!

I know that this wasn't a huge Fourtris moment, but there will be more in the other parts of this book!! Trust me!!
