Josh- "happy new year"

(a/n since you SLUGS didn't give me any ideas for a new part i cheated by asking my friend for help)

It's new year's eve, and once again, you're spending it with the Kiszkas.
You and your family have known them pretty much your whole life. They moved in next door to you and your family after the twins were born, so you kinda grew up with them. And very quickly became absolute best friends with Josh. You'd always have sleepovers, hang out, you did everything together. Even through the "ew cooties" phase, you stuck by eachother.
Since the Josh and Y/N traditions must live on till the end of time, you're with Josh in his childhood bedroom goofing around like usual, while everyone is scattered kind of doing their own thing. Sam bothering Jake, Jake yelling at him. Kelly telling them to shut up, Karen and Ronnie sitting on the couch ignoring it all. The usual Kiszka household activities.
At around 11:00 you both start to get a little sleepy, and lay on his bed. With you stealing all the blankets of course.
after some silence, He asks you something.
"hey y/n?"
"yeah?"
"so um.....how are things with your new boyfriend?"
"they're...okay. Things didn't really work out between us. He wasn't very nice to me and i'm not going to be in another shitty relationship"
"that's fair, i didn't really like him to be honest with you. He was really mean and angry"
you scoff. "yes. yes he was"
As both of you start to fall asleep, being very very tired from Karen's many games, You hear her yell.
"ITS TIME EVERYONE ITS TIME"
Josh leaps up thinking something was wrong, but he remembers that he's at his mom and dads house.
"come on y/n mom is making us watch the ball again"
"ugh fine i'm coming" groaning as josh pulls you up.
"5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Happy new year!" Karen yells.
Before you can even process what's going on, you feel a pull at your face.
"what?-" Your quickly cut off, by Josh kissing you passionately. You're lifelong best friend. You couldn't believe it.
Deep down, you've always loved him, everything about him. How stubborn he is, his sense of humor, everything. But, because he was your best friend, you never said anything because you didn't want to ruin what you had.
"josh what? what are you doing?" You say as he pulls back.
"i love you y/n"
you wait a moment, as you feel everyone painfully staring at you.
"i love you too Josh"
He pulls you in once again, tipping you back like in movies. You wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer, realizing that what you wanted was here all along.
Everyone cheered, you start to giggle. But you hear Karen talking to Jake about something
"took them long enough" Jake scoffs.
"i know right?" And of course Josh hears.
"stop guys she had a boyfriend"
Everyone says in unison, "okay?!"
You all laugh.
Once everyone is settled, you and Josh go to sleep, knowing you're going to be very, very happy.
