Unfinished Business: Book 2

"Boys...Eddie."

When Nora sees the trio of Mike, Dustin, and Lucas running up the spiral staircase, she takes a deep breath before leaving Eddie's embrace. He notices her behavior and takes her hand in his, "I'll be nice, I promise." He whispers to her. Nora looks at him and lets out a weary laugh, "It's not you that I'm worried about, babe. I'm worried about something else." She gulps as they finally approach the group of boys. She winces and looks at him, "I don't have the aftermath of treating you to the-" She goes to say, but Eddie stops her, "The best blowjob ever?" He finishes, then shakes his head, "No, you still look beautiful as ever, Princess." He adds before kissing her cheek, which makes her smile. Nora nervously walks up to Dustin and rests her arm on his shoulder, causing him to light up, "My future wife, to what do I owe the pleasure?" He asks while looking at Nora with goo-goo eyes. Eddie raises a brow at the one Nora uses as support, then sees Jonathan, Will, and Johnny joining the group. Jonathan waves as he stands behind the boys, which Eddie returns. Nora rolls her eyes and looks at Eddie, "Boys, I would like to introduce you to Eddie." Nora introduces. Eddie sees Johnny and gives him the casual hug they give each other, "Edward." Johnny greets, and Eddie smirks, "Jonathan." He mocks Johnny's tone.

Will waves at Eddie with a cheeky smile, "Hi, Eddie." He greets, causing Eddie to smile slightly at him, "Little Byers, nice to see you again." Eddie nods his head with a beaming smile towards him. Nora bites her cheek as Eddie and Lucas lock their eyes. Lucas sizes Eddie up, looking deep into his soul, "If you hurt Nora, I swear, I'll go all Karate Kid on your ass." He warns him before slowly backing away and shaking Eddie's extended hand. Next up, Dustin; Nora knows that nothing nice is going to come out of Dustin's mouth, so she knows an argument between the two is inevitable. She closes her eyes and rubs her temples while waiting for Dustin to speak.

Dustin swipes his tongue over his teeth, "Oh? So this is the one that stole my girl from me?" He asks as he looks Eddie up and down with his signature judgmental look plastered all over his face. Nora rolls her eyes and looks over to Eddie, "Eddie, this is Dustin, and Dustin, this is Eddie." She introduces them in a monotone voice. Dustin brings his hand up to his heart and stumbles back as if he's falling, "Oh, my heart. How could you do this to me, Nora." He dramatically cries, "I thought we had something special, something real, something... passionate!" He spoke with so much theatricality in his sentences. Nora shakes her head before thumping Dustin's forehead, "Dustin, give up. I'm way too old for you." Nora says as she ruffles his hair with her hand. Dustin pushes her hand away and blows a raspberry, "You think I am scared of this Eddie Van Halen wannabe? Well, I'm not! Cause I know you'll come back to me when he hurts you. They always come back to Dusty Bun." He dramatically spoke. Nora stood there with a blank expression on her face; before shaking her head, "Dust- you know what? Never mind, it's not important." She chuckles before turning to Eddie with a smile, "These boys, yeah, they would kill for me. They're my brothers, and if you're going to be my boyfriend, then you have to know them." She explains. Dustin crosses his arms over his chest, "I will marry you." He grumbles, unaware that everyone can hear what he just said.

Mike nudges Dustin's arm and gives him a look that says, "Behave," which, thankfully, causes Dustin to put his hands up in defense and back away. Mike looks over at Eddie and shakes his hand, "Nice to meet you, Eddie. I apologize for Dustin's behavior. We support the relationship 100%," He says proudly, "I will say, if you ever make this woman cry, you will feel my wrath, and a Wheeler's wrath is never fun. That being said. Welcome to the family of misfits and weirdos, treat Nora well, and whatever you do to her, we do to you." Mike sweetly warns with a smile before shaking Eddie's hand. Eddie keeps a simple smile as his gaze bounces from Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Mike. He shoves his hands in his back pockets and grins at the four, "You boys don't have to worry about me hurting her. She's in safe hands. I swear by it." He happily says before looking at Nora, who is hiding her blushing cheeks. Eddie didn't want to admit it aloud but seeing all these people share how much they care about Nora made him smile.
