After they left the park, Eddie was happy to see Nora smiling and laughing again. What made it even better was Nora singing along to the radio playing in the car. She was back to her usual self, which was all Eddie wanted. Nora felt the bass vibrations coming from her speakers, which gave her the feeling of her heartbeat at max level. Nora was grateful for Eddie because he didn't push fixing her right way. Instead was patient with Nora to do it herself and listened to anything she said. Eddie understood Nora so well that it made Nora wonder if there was anything he didn't know how to make her feel better. Her thoughts replayed what Eddie had said earlier, of how he saw their future together because he wanted to marry her. At first, Nora didn't think she would have this type of love because all she knew was the distant love from Jessica and Nathaniel. Yet last year is when everything changed for her.
Nora met her knight in black leather and a jean jacket with heavy metal curly brown hair, her Eddie. Although their first meeting didn't go off the way it did in books, it was memorable. Nora thought after that she wouldn't be bothered with Eddie again, yet he always seemed to find her. When Hopper came to the school to talk to her about Will's disappearance, Eddie was there, then after her meeting, he was still there, waiting for her. They always collided together, yet it felt like fate. And all Eddie had to do was smile at her, which helped Nora forget all the negative feelings she had about love. Nora realized Eddie would always be there to catch her from falling, which was how she knew she had fallen in love with him.
While the couple continued driving around, Nora's stomach softly rumbled, causing her to bring her hand up to her belly and look at Eddie, "I'm craving a treat, maybe something sweet." She tells him. Eddie softly chuckled to himself and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her in closer to him, "I don't because I've already got the sweetest treat in Hawkins." He joked. Nora playfully rolled her eyes at his teasing and softly nudged him with her elbow, "I'm serious. Can we get some milkshakes?" She asked him while pouting her lips and giving him the puppy dog eyes he could never say no to. He nodded, "Anything for you, my love." He replies before kissing her temple. Nora happily giggles as she rests her head on Eddie's shoulder, watching the town of Hawkins pass them by.
As Nora daydreams of the future, a song on the radio catches Eddie's attention. He moves his right hand off the steering wheel to turn up the volume to find out what the mysterious tune could be, which reveals to be 38 Special's song, Caught Up In You. The lyrics struck hard into Eddie's chest as they played through the speakers of the Ford Mustang. They reminded him of how he thought his life would be before Nora came along and changed his whole perspective. Before Nora, Eddie never cared for relationships because he thought love was never in the cards for him until a beauty with emerald-colored eyes and a vibrant smile entered his life. Eddie can't imagine a day without Nora because he knows he can't live without her. Somehow, Nora must be daydreaming because Eddie is waiting to hear her beautiful voice singing this song, but it's just the band playing while tapping his thumb on the steering wheel.
The song ends as Eddie pulls into the diner parking lot, which snaps Nora out of her trance, and she looks at him, "You ready for something sweet, Princess?" He asks, and Nora blushes, "Of course, Stalker." She teases before unbuckling her seatbelt. Eddie watches Nora's movements, waiting to see if she goes to open her door, which she doesn't, "Stay, put." He orders while taking out the keys and putting them into his leather jacket. Nora shakes her head as she giggles at how Eddie treats her. She never thought this kind of love would be for her, but this metalhead of hers proved her wrong. Eddie straightens his jacket and clears his throat as he opens Nora's door for her, "Milady." He says while offering his arm, and Nora giggles again, "Why, thank you, sir." She replies before kissing his cheek, but Eddie pouts, "Can I have another, but this time on the lips? Please?" He whines, and Nora smiles before giving Eddie another kiss.
