"YOU WANT ME TO ACCOMPANY?" you asked in a confused tone as you were eating your afternoon meal along with Yanfei at Wanmin restuarant which was owned by Xiangling and her father.
Xiangling asked you if you could accompany her to the Dihua marsh to collect ingredients as she was afraid of going alone. You didn't have any work today as it was a weekend but for Xiangling to ask you to accompany her? You who got startled at even the smallest creak of the wooden floor?
It would be Xiangling who'll have to keep you company instead then...
"Are you sure though...Yanfei seems like a better option right now.." you say as you stuff your mouth with delicious jade parcels that Xiangling had prepared for you. Xiangling nodded her head eagerly.
"Yep! I only need you by my side as it's been a LONG time since we've spent time together! Please don't say no to this Y/n!" Xiangling pleaded using her eyes. Yanfei chuckled at you both.
"Haha...I would have loved to join you both but legal matters await me! A shame I can't join you guys.." Yanfei said as she placed her chopsticks down after finishing her portions.
You sighed and agreed to Xiangling's wish although you were really scared to go to the marshlands due to a childhood memory.
You and Yelan were around the Dihua Marsh trying to look for a certain type of flower and unexpectedly a whopper flower was disguised as the very same flower you two were looking for.
As a child, you couldn't really distinguish between flowers but as soon as you touched it, a whopper flower came attacking you but thankfully a passer-by helped you. Ever since, you weren't a fan of adventuring through any marshlands.
Nevertheless that was years ago. You were now a FULLY grown adult, who shouldn't be afraid of these things...right...?
"Xiangling...please don't leave from my sight I'm so scaredofwhopperflowersplease.. PLEASE." you say as you cling onto Xiangling's arms while you both were now walking through the marsh.
At the sight of those flowers, your fear came back knocking at your door after years. Horrible cold shivers went behind you.
"Aww Y/n if you were this scared I could have taken you elsewhere than bringing you here. Don't worry as long as Guoba and I are here, nothing will happen." Xiangling tried comforting you but you kept clinging onto her which kept delaying her from picking up ingredients.
Later after an hour, Xiangling noticed her friend, The Traveler, Lumine who was also around the marsh to complete her commissions. She excused immediately and ran towards her, asking you to wait for a moment.
You suddenly flinched at the thought of being alone but you didn't move a muscle, until a certain someone had caught your eye. The very same scholar you met earlier a while ago at the tavern.
You saw how he was walking completely directionless. Almost as if he had no clue about what could happen around these areas. Either you get attacked by a bunch of slimes hidden behind bushes or the worst, whopperflowers.
Unknown to you, a sense of trouble was already picked up by you, as you chose to follow him so that this random fellow who suffers from an artist's block doesn't go and ends up injuring himself more.
You kept a great distance from him, until he went by a river bank and saw a flower. You felt your heart leap for a moment as the scene was too familiar to you. He sighed and almost touched the flower, until you shouted out loud.
"HEY DON'T TOUCH THAT FLOWER, IT'S A WHOPPERFLOWER IN DISGUISE!" You shout and run up to him, pulling his hand away. The man was completely startled but somehow he felt her voice was familiar and her hair color too...
"What do you mean...it's just a flower.." He said as he broke out of your hold.
"Trust me, in Liyue these things cannot really be distinguished. Especially those." You say pointing at it, with a disgusted look.
"You have some old grudge with it or something?" The blonde scholar asked as he scoffed and crossed his arms on his chest.
"Well ye—" You were cut off with your sentence when you heard Xiangling scream your name out.
"...—WHERE HAVE YOU DISAPPEARED?" Xiangling's voice was heard. The scholar and you turn towards the direction of the voice and at that moment you realized it was your chance to leave. He seemed like he wanted to ask you a question.
"Very well, You can save your thanks later I need to get going before things get messed up—" you say as you walk back. He suddenly raises his voice and asks gently,
"Do I know you perhaps? Have we...ever met before in a tavern?" He asked immediately. you flinched. Since he took notice of that, you had no choice but to agree.
You turn around and looked at him with a smile. "Yes we have met already once sir artist. Let's save the introductions for the next time shall we?"
Before he could reply with anything, you quickly walked away towards Xiangling who was screaming on top of her lungs looking out for you.
.
.
Kaveh stood there as he felt his heart beat rapidly through his chest. Why didn't words come out from his throat when he wanted to ask for help from her? Moreover why was he feeling so flustered? Especially after she smiled in such a warm way?
He kept questioning him multiple times and even touched his forehead to feel it burn.
"What on earth is wrong with me." He muttered, holding his chest tightly.
END — CHAPTER #05.
BONUS :
Kaveh decided to see if Y/n was lying about whopperflowers hiding beneath flowers so he unconsciously touched one and there came one before him!
He stood there blankly staring at it, in disbelief. "Guess she was right."
Kaveh and the Whopperflower had an intense fight that lasted for about one whole hour. Because Kaveh did not carry his weapon along with him.
a/n : Honestly speaking, I hate whopperflowers. They are annoying asf. ANYWAY, Thoughts on the chapter? Future chapters are going to be interesting !!
