The two boys flew back on Neteyam's ikran. It was now past eclipse as they flew through the sky.

After they arrived back at the island they walked back through the woodland area. Before splitting up Aonung pulled Neteyam in and pecked him on the lips. Sort of a goodnight kiss.

——

The next morning Neteyam awoke to Tuk sitting next to his bed, waiting for him. When he turned to look at her properly she began to smile uncontrollably and shout for him to get up while trying to drag him out of his bed.

"Come on Neteyam you need to play with me."
"Yep yep, I'm comin'. Hold your horses."

The siblings made their way to the  reef because Tuk wanted Neteyam to help her make a sandcastle. There was other kids who where also at the reef but what surprised Neteyam was Aonung playing with the other children. Aonung must of spotted the two because he soon came wandering over to them.

Despite there being other kids there who also seemed to be making sandcastles, Tuk didn't want to play with them. Neteyam couldn't understand why she wouldn't play with the other children. Back at home Tuk would play with everyone and everything that moved.

Eventually Neteyam couldn't take much more of the questions that were eating at him. "So Tuk, how come you don't want to play with the other kids?" She looked kind of upset but annoyed when he brought it up. Looked like she was gunna cry and it pained Neteyam to see his sister that way.

"Well it's just that the other kids don't really like me to much."
"Oh? Do you know why Tuk?"
"They keep making fun of Lo'ak and Kiri for having 'demon blood' and then started calling me a freak for being their sister."
"Well Tuk, d'you wanna know something?" Tuk nodded her head to him. "Aonung told me that when he used to wear his hair down people used to think he was his sister."
"Hey! I told you that in confidence."
"Yea yea, whatever Aon. But all I'm saying Tuk is that if they can get Aonung mixed up with his sister just because of his hair than they must be idiots. And they are definitely all morons if they think that we are freaks because we're 'half bloods'."
"Thanks Neteyam."
"Right now let's get this sandcastle finished, yea?"

——

Neteyam sat in his usual space at their sunset spot as he waited for Aonung.

When Aonung arrived he slithered his arms around Neteyam's neck to hug him. The other boy hugged him back, grasping at his arms.

"See Aon, that's how you react when someone hugs you." Aonung laughed at him as he continued to hug him tighter and began to leave small kisses on Neteyam's cheek. The two boys sat in peace, talking about random topics with each other.

"Did you really have to tell Tuk about the hair thing."
"Well it helped didn't it, so it's alright now."
"Still, it was supposed to be our little secret."

Aonung started to caress Neteyam's face before pulling him in for a kiss. The kiss was slow, soft and full of comfort between the two boys.
