Fanfic: Shatranj| D. Al Ghul

Portrayed by: Lorenzo Zurzolo

Background: Adopted by Bruce Wayne after he was caught trying to steal the tires from the Batmobile. Died after being tortured by the Joker but was resurrected by the Al Ghuls.

Alias: Ajay (an Assassin in the League temporarily), Red Hood (currently)

Age: 25 onwards

Current Status: Alive (resurrected by the Lazarus Pit)

Eye color: Electric Blue with emerald flecks

Hair color and type: Dark Brown, messy and unkempt.

Skin color: Fair

Height: 6'2"

Love Interest: Roy Harper and Koriand'R.

Hobbies: Used to have hobbies of performing theater plays, reading classics and poetry, cooking, and baking with Richard and Alfred. A lot of his hobbies got suppressed as he lost many of his memories after the resurrection.

Personality: Easily one of the deadliest Jason Todds ever, second only to the version of his character from Clown Prince. This Jason is just as bitter about his death and is even more of a menace to Bruce and the rest of his family than he was earlier.

The prominent personality facts about him are as follows:

• Unstable and violent. After being resurrected, he lost most of his memories but remembered two men who in his view were the cause of his death; Batman and Joker.

• Has the meanest of insults up his sleeve and no regard for others' self-esteem. He grills Bruce with his insults on a daily basis.

• Unforgiving nature. Can keep grudges for very long.

• Invincible, easily one of the deadliest assassins ever trained by the Al Ghuls. His instability sometimes terrifies Talia as well.

• He was one of the League's most powerful weapons and had he stayed with them longer, he could have resulted in strengthening the hold of the League of Assassins to an invincible level.

• His relationship with Talia is complicated, to say the least. She manipulates him a lot and since she's the one who was majorly responsible for his resurrection, he has this belief that she is a benefactor to him. But deep down he knows that staying with the League is not his answer so he eventually escapes.

• Jason and Damian were not on good terms from the start. The young Al Ghul heir saw him as a rival while Jay considered him as an unavoidable parasite.

• Returned to Gotham after eight years of staying dead to his family. He did not want to come back to them but Richard managed to make amends.

• However, the whole Red Hood drama with the Joker abduction and Batman crises happened in this story too.

• He does not like Tim but will not hurt a kid so in his own way, he tries to look out for him.

• His bonding with Barbara has gotten somewhat better than earlier due to their mutual hatred for Joker.

• He still clashes with Bruce very often and chose not to be a part of the Bats. So Red Hood is more of an independent vigilante in this story who later on joins the Outlaws with Roy and Kori.

• He is an addict but slowly recovering with the help of his friends and family. During his time at the League, he was often kept drugged so that he wouldn't turn out to be a danger to the League itself. That ended up in making him addicted and he suffers from trying to beat the withdrawal symptoms and side effects.

• When the League starts interfering again, under Damian as the Demon Head, Jason strongly opposes the idea of negotiation. He believes Damian is a power-hungry leader who would go against them sooner or later.

• And of course his instincts are proved right when their opposition to the League leads to the death of a dear family member.

• Needless to say, Jason ends up swearing vengeance and to some extent succeeds in taking revenge for his favorite brother's demise (okay enough spoilers for now, we'll find the rest out when I get to writing this story).

Theme Song: Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones,

Enough to make my systems blow.

Welcome to the new age, to the new age.

Welcome to the new age.

Origin story: (follows canon storyline with a few minor modifications).

The only modification here is that he died at the age of 17 instead of 19 so he spent eight years away from Gotham before finally returning as Red Hood.
