Wei Ying's pov

Everyone got quiet after I had screamed. I didn't know what I did wrong, until I noticed what I'd said. I started to panic. They were not supposed to know that I think of him as my older brother. Now they will hate me and throw me out.

No one's pov

After Wei Ying noticed what he said, he panicked and ran out of the healer room. Everyone were frozen for a while, but then Jiang Cheng came up on his feet and dashed out after him, he was going to try to find him and tell him it was alright. Soon after, the rest of the family did the same, not everyone because of the same reason, but they all had the same goal, and that was to find Wei Ying and make him feel alright.

Jiang Cheng pov

When Wei Ying left, it took about 3 minutes before it clicked in my mind about what he felt, and I rushed out of the room. I needed to find him before he did something more stupid.

I heard the others behind me scrambling to get out as well, but they wouldn't be able to find him. Only I knew where he was, and I couldn't let the others know about it, so I made a plan.

Step 1, shake them off by running around.
Step 2, run away
Step 3, find and comfort Wei Ying

Seems easy enough, right? Warning, it wasn't.
As I was trying to shake them of my tail, they found me right away again. I needed to disappear into the shadows so they wouldn't be able to find me again. I picked an empty hallway with many different statues and shadows. This was the best place. I ran into the shadows of one of the statues, and noticed a little door that led outside to the court yard. Awesome.
I heard the others come, and I didn't even think twice before I opened the little door and ran outside.

As I went outside, I was by the training grounds. There, I saw something unexpected. The older disciples were leaning over and hitting something. I went towards them, and started hearing whimpering, but not the whimpering from an animal that's scared, but from a person that's being beaten. I ran towards them, suspecting who it was.

Surprise surprise, I was right. On the ground, the only one that has ever called me dágé laid, being kicked down by his senior's. It just wasn't right. I ran towards them and pushed them away. It didn't help much, but they didn't know it was me. I started to shout, and they finally looked down and understood who it was that was trying to get them to stop. They looked down at me and bowed.

"Young sect heir" they said while they bowed. I was mad. They acted like they didn't do anything wrong, but they don't know who it was that they were beating.
"What do you think you're doing too my dìdì?" I asked the disciples. They just looked at me confused. Wei Ying looked shocked. Bad.
"What do you mean by that? This lowly servant isn't anyone's brother. He's just that, a lowly servant" the first disciple said. He seemed to be the leader, and probably the one that told the other disciples to beat Wei Ying.

"No, what do YOU mean. Right now, you're beating my dìdì. Why are you beating him" I asked them. Once they heard that, they scrambled away like they had seen a yao. As soon as they were out of site, I ran towards Wei Ying and hugged him.

"Dágé?" he said in my embrace, snuggling into me and hugging me back.

"Yes dìdì?" I answered. He looked up to face me, but he didn't say anything.

"..."
"What is it?"
"..."
"Do you really see me as your dìdì?" he asked me, his voice a little shaky.
"Do you really see me as your dágé?" I countered.
"Y-Yes" he answered.

"If I'm your dágé, then your my dìdì" I answered back , mater of factly. He stared at me, surprised. Suddenly, he got tears in his eyes and put his face to my chest and cried into it.

No one's pov

As they were standing there, the Jiang family understood what Jiang Cheng had done and ran to find him.
They searched everywhere, but couldn't find him by the places he often was at. Suddenly, Jiang Yanli had a feeling.

Jiang Yanli's pov

We were searching for my brothers, when suddenly I got this feeling to check the training grounds. I didn't know why, but I ran from A-Niang and A-Die towards the training grounds. They must of noticed quickly, because I soon heard them behind me as I ran. I know it's inappropriate for a lady to run, but right now, I ignored all the things a lady with no cultivation should and shouldn't do. My brothers were missing again, and I needed to find them.

No one's pov

Jiang Yanli 'laid in a spurt' (if you could call it that) and got to the training grounds first. There she saw a cute, but heartbreaking scene. Her youngest younger brother bruised and battered in her oldest younger brothers arms, crying and just not feeling okay. While the other just sat there with Wei Ying, letting him cry in his arms and just being of comfort.

Jiang Yanli stood there for a few seconds, before running towards her younger brothers and hugging the two of them. Anyone who walked by would see two sect children being nice to a servant. But the Jiang family, or the two that weren't in the hug at least, knew it was something more.

What they saw were their children, all three of them, comforting each other, making sure that they would feel something else other than sadness. Jiang FengMian smiled at the scene, happy that his children and his adopted nephew were getting along with each other. Yu Ziuan on the other hand, felt remorse for how she thought and treated little Wei Ying.

For the first time, she saw him as an actual child, not some half orphan made from the child's mother and her husband. She saw a child who has trauma and is used to cover up his emotions. There and then, she vowed to never hurt him again, neither physically or mentally.

Then she noticed the bruises battered all over on his body, almost no skin was left clean. She got mad and stormed towards the small children.

It wasn't meant to scare them, but Wei Ying only knew that when someone stormed towards you, you needed to run. It was like that everywhere on the streets. Life or death, bruised or not, when someone stormed up to you, it meant you had done something wrong.

Out of habit, Wei Ying started to struggle against the warm embraces to get away from Yu Ziuan.

Yu Ziuan noticed this and slowed her pace to a walk. Wei Ying noticed this, and slowly calmed down, but he was still tense, ready to run out if he needed to. Yu Ziuan noticed this yet again, and when she get to the children, her biological children saw her and scrambled up to bow. To everyone's surprise, she dismissed the bow and took every child there into a group hug. She didn't say anything, she just sat there with them.

Soon, Wei Ying started to cry, feeling as if he wasn't all alone anymore. Even though he had gotten taken in, he still felt alone. But now, when he felt accepted by everyone, he didn't feel alone anymore
