It had been a few days after Jiang Cheng's awakening, and it was soon time for Wei Ying's own awakening. In total, there was about 1 week and a half between their birthdays. Wei Ying decided that he would visit the place where his uncle first found him.

As he went out of Lotus Pier with sword on his hip, said hello to all of the servants and disciples. After comming out of the main house where the disciples train, he took out his sword and started to fly away.

The trip took around 2 and a half days if he didn't speed there, but he didn't to deplate his spiritual energy before stopping for the night to rest, so he had a slow and steddy pace.

After two and a half day of flying, he finally got to Yilling and booked an inn-room. After booking the inn-room and eating some lunch,he went out to explore a little. Seeing the different streets he used to live on, he frowned. He didn't the same thing to happen to anyone else, but some people are just scumbags. There are people who throw out their children at a young age just because they didn't have a strong core or because "the gender was wrong". He felt his mind getting angry, so he quickly tried to calm down before he continued on a little path.
Soon, he heard barking and immediately froze.

After five years on the street, being around dogs that attacked him for any scraps he had, he had developed a very big fear for dogs. Any sign of a dog made him freeze directly.

After a few minutes, he slowly got out of his momentary freeze and started moving towards the barking. Although he was scared, a voice in his mind told him to go there.

As he rounded the exact corner that his uncle picked him up from, to see two little foxes curled together, big dogs surrounding the two and scaring them. The thing about these foxes, where that they weren't normal foxes. They had 9 tails.

Wei Ying's pov

The scene before me hurt my heart. I may not like dogs because of what happened to me, but that doesn't mean I want it to happen to anyone else, especially if it was of their own kind.

Against his fear, Wei Ying went towards the dogs, shooing them away.
"SHOO, go away! Leave them alone!" He shouted.

The dogs turned there heads to see who were stopping there harassment, to see a fourteen year old boy shouting at them with a sword by his hip, looking at them with angry eyes. The dogs ran away, tails between there legs.

Wei Ying felt proud of himself, he had shood away the dogs, the dogs that a few years ago hurt him and gave him trauma.

Then, he looked at the two animals, who looked back at him with astonishment and hope in their eyes.

Wei Ying looked at them and felt bad. So he went up to the two animals and started to pet the both them.

The animals seemed to smile at this, as their eyes started sparkling. The only thing going through Wei Ying's head was:

'Cute'

And that was what the small animals were, cute. Wei Ying cuddled the two kits and started to slowly turn around to move back to Lotus Pier on his sword, kits in hand, intending to give them a better life.

-Back at Lotus Pier-

To say the Jiang family was surprised to see their adopted family member come back with two kits in his arms was an understatement. They were even more surprised when they saw the nine tails. Apparently, finding foxes with nine tails are very rare, almost legendary.

Jiang Yanli's pov

To see my A-Ying come back with two nine tailed kitsune foxes was very surprising, since it's almost legendary to even find one, but two at the same time? That's pretty much unheard of!!

He didn't know how rare that was until we told him. I giggled at his expression when A-Die and A-Niang told him about it. It was so comical.

He soon left us alone, us giggling and laughing at his embarrassed posture. He left to his room and that was the last thing we saw off him that day. 'Giggle'

Wei Ying's pov

They giggled at me, so embarrassing. Anyways, let's attend to these cute foxes. First a bath.

Wei Ying took the small baby foxes in his hand to where his bath tub to wash them. But when he was about to put them down in his tub, they wouldn't let go. He had no choice but to try to reassure the two babies that he wouldn't leave them to anything bad.
It took a while of coaxing, but the kits soon let go of him.

After Wei Ying put them down in the warm bath water, he stripped down and jumped into the bath tub as well. He took some soap and started scrubbing the two animals, one by one, lightly so as to not startle them.

After they were both scrubbed clean from dirt, he took them out of the bath tub, wrapped them in towels and clothed himself again after drying off himself. He dried them and asked for some meat to be brought to his room. While they were waiting for the food to be brought to the room, he tried to make them stop cling to him.

Wei Ying's pov

Oh god, their so clingy, but I can understand why. I was just like them when the incident after A-Cheng got kidnapped a few years ago.

-Flashback-

After the incident with the kidnappers, me and dágé  never separated for a long time without panicking. It was a little wired for the people who didn't know about the kidnapping incident.

It's been a few months since the incident. We were finally able to be without each other for at least a few days. But we still slept on the same bed when we were together.

It was night, and it seemed like dágé had a nightmare. He was rolling around on the bed, and he whimpered, mumbling and asking telling someone to stop.

I turned towards him, and tried to shake him gently to wake up. But it didn't work, so I shook him a little harder. It still didn't work, and I started to get worried. I continued to shake him, but he didn't wake up.

I panicked and started shouting for uncle Jiang and Madam Yu. I started to get a panic attack when I noticed that even after I practically screamed for help.

Suddenly, the door slammed open and Madam Yu and uncle Jiang ran into the room. They look at me, and then run to dágé. They tried shaking him awake, but nothing happened. I jumped onto him, hugging him.

Suddenly, he woke up, teary eyed. Soon enough he started to cry and curled up in my embrace. Uncle Jiang shouted for a healer to be brought inside, while Madam Yu hugged us.

"M-Ma-Mada-" I started, but got cut off.
"No, not Madam, Āyí" she said.

"Ma-... Āyí?"
"Yes A-Ying?"
"Is dàgè going to be okay?" I asked, scared.
"I don't know A-Ying. The healers are on their way" uncle Jiang answered instead of Āyí Yu.

Suddenly the door opened and the healers went inside.
"Sect leader Jiang, Madam Yu, child. I must kindly ask you to go out in order for us to examine the young master" a healer, a little inconsiderate of Wei Ying's feeling's, told them.

The leaders of the Jiang sect scoffed but went out, Yu Ziuan holding Wei Ying in her arms. The inconsiderate healer looked at her surprised, but went back to Jiang Cheng to help with the examination.
