Dear Distraction

2| Chapter 2

Its the next day and Rose decided to go shopping.

It was her day off from college and she wanted to treat herself for the day.

She went to go buy new clothes, but a new style. She has wanted to try a different style for so long already.

She left the store with crop tops and skirts that just covers everything.

She felt pretty in the clothes so she decided she wanna buy it.

She never wore clothes that she wanted to, because well...her parents didnt allow it, but now that her parents got divorced and is never around anymore, she can do whatever she wants.

She has set herself boundaries even though she felt like it was cruel.

The next two days passed through from college and then the unexpected happens.

Her phones starts ringing but she doesn't recognized the caller ID.

She picks it up after hesitating for a while.

"Hello?" She speaks.

"Hi, I need your help." A voice says and she instantly recognized it.

"With what, Liam?" She asked kind of annoyed.

"I- I- I fucked up." He says and Rose could hear his voice shaking.

"Okay, Liam calm down what happened?" She asks and he lets out a shaky breathe on the other side of the line.

"You're gonna be so pissed at me." He says and she closes her eyes annoyed.

"Liam, spit it out!" She yells.

"I had sex..." He says slowing down at the end.

"Liam, why would I be mad about you having sex?" She asks

"Cause, it was with Mia." He says and Rose froze in her spot.

"Rose, I can explain. I know it doesnt seem so bad but.. but I didn't want to..." He explains. "It just kind of happend. I- I- wasnt thinking straight. We were both drunk and-" he says, but Rose cuts him off.

"God, please tell me ur joking?" She asks and he mumbles a 'no'. She swears under her breathe and continues.

"I'll call you back, I need to talk to Mia." She says and he rejects.

"No! She cant know I told you. She didn't want you to find out." He says quickly.

"Well fine then. Come to my place we need to talk about this in person." She says and hungs up.

Mia was her best friend and Liam was... someone she tolerated on some days. There is a reason why she dont want them to have sex.

Mia likes him alot and he knew it. He likes someone else and it will break Mia if she had to find out.

Liam isn't the type to use someone, but like he said, it wasn't supposed to happen. Which is going to break Mia.

After a few minutes, Liam showed up at her place.

"Come in." Rose said furiously.

"Rose, I'm sorry." He says and she shakes her head.

"No, you should tell that to Mia, not me! I thought I could trust you man. My best friend of all people?!" She shouts and he winces at that.

"Rose, I was drunk... I didnt think straight. She came to me I swear." He says with his hand up in surrender.

"Liam, Remember the promise you made me?" Rose asks him and he nods. "Well, you broke that. Which means you broke my trust. I told you, you can fuck any girl you want, just not Mia. Did you not understand me when I said NOT?!" Rose shouts and he starts to shake.

He runs his hands over his face.

"Liam, why Mia?"

"She came to-"

"Bullshit! You had the option not to!"

"Fuck Rose, its because I love her!" He says and Rose feels all her energy escape her body.

"You.. you love her?" She asks feeling broken for yelling at him now.

"Yes Rose. I told you I liked someone else cause I know you tell Mia everything." He says and Rose just stares at him blankly.

"But that still doesn't explain the fact that you didn't want to have sex with her!" Rose says.

"I didn't mean that I didn't want to have sex with her, I did! I was just scared and freaking out." Liam admits defeatedly.

"Okay.. .so you're telling me that... All this time man?" She asks and he nods. A few minutes of silence of silence passes by between the two of them.

"Well, fine. I'm still mad. But! I want you to go fix things. Stop being a scardy-cat and talk to her. Before she overthinks it." She says and he nods.

"Im sorry for being so angry, Liam. I thought you just used her.."

"I understand Rose. I get it, but I want you to know that I'm not like that. You might think I'm a fuck boy, but it's only been her."

"I didn't mean it in a rude way. Have you seen the way you jump from one girl to another? "

"I know what you meant and I get Mia gets used left, right and centre. You didn't want me to be like that too. And I'm not. I truly love her." He says a tear dropping from his eyes.

Rose takes a few steps towards him and hugs him.

"Just talk to her. Go ask her out. Make her happy. Just don't break her heart. Unless you want to spend the rest of your life with a broken skull." Rose says and he nods.

"Thanks Rose." He says wiping away a tear.

"No problem dude. Atop crying and fix this." She says just before he walks out of the door.

Liam left right away and Rose went to her room. She closed her door and slid against it.

"I really misjudged him. Something he would never have done to me." She says to herself, feeling guilty.

She makes her way to her bed and switches off her bed lamp.

Rose wants to wake up with only good news and nothing more. This was too tiring for her.

Even though she didn't like the idea of them being together, she knew that they both likes one another. Well Liam loves her. So why should Rose be mad about that?

She only wants the best for her best friend. It's not fair to stand in the way of their happiness.

But deep down, Rose don't want either one of them to get hurt.

Rose pushed all questions aside and decided that she should not be judging or be asking questions, but to be happy for her best friend and Liam.

Liam deserves to be happy too. Even if it is with her best friend.

God, does Rose feel guilty though. Why can't she have that? Someone to look out for her too. Someone that loves her like Liam loves Mia?
