It's the next day and Jay woke up with Rose being M.I.A.

He looked everywhere for her. He couldn't find her at all.

"Morning, sweetheart." Jay's mother says cheerfully.

"Morning, Mother. Uhm, you didn't see Rose anywhere, have you?" Jay asks and his mother shakes her head.

Jay walks to his dad's study to see if she might be there, but the door is locked and the whole upper floor is empty.

Where could she be?

"Rose?" Jay calls out to her, but there is no response.

"Hey, Lils? Did you see Rose by any chance?" Jay asks and Lily giggles nodding her head.

"Yeah, I have. She went outside to the garden. She mentioned that she wanted to be alone for a while. Now, can you help me? Our guests are going to be here very soon." Lily asks raising her brow at him.

"Yeah, let me just go check up on Rose first okay? I'll be back now." Jay says leaving Lily standing dumbfounded in the dining room.

Jay spotted Rose sitting in the garden. Legs crossed. She looks so peaceful in her own little world. She was talking to someone but there was no one there.

"Rose? You had me worried, you know." Jay tells her startling her.

"Morning Jay. Or well, afternoon." Rose says ignoring what Jay said.

"Morning. Why didn't you wake me up?" Jay asks and she shrugs.

"Didn't want to wake you up? Your sister was awake so she invited me out here, but unfortunately she had to get ready for guests." Lily says twisting her ring finger.

"Yeah? My sister told me you needed space... You okay, Rose?" Jay asks her sitting beside her.

"I'm okay, it's just weird that your family is this loving. I must still get used to it I guess." Rose says resting her head against Jay's shoulder.

"I know, but you better get used to it. My parents and sister adores you." Jay says and she sighs.

"Why? How could they adore such a problematic person like me?" Rose asks brokenly, tears starting to fall from her eyes.

"Hey, look at me. You shouldn't say such things about yourself. You are not problematic. You are a loving, funny, weird and caring person. You are so perfect. I don't understand why you can't see that." Jay says which makes Rose swell up with tears even more.

She lifts her head from his shoulder and turns herself to face him. She looks him in the eyes and almost for a second she just wanted to hug him and cry her heart out. Unfortunately she can't do that. She feels embarrassed.

She wipes her tears away that unintentionally fell from her eyes.

"Yeah? Well you don't know everything about me." She says and Jay gets up.

"Look, I might not know you as much as you know yourself, but the past is the roots of who you are. You are stronger than what you think." He says and kisses her on her forehead.

"Don't beat yourself up about what's hurting you." Jay says and Rose nods.

"When you're ready, come inside. I'm going to go help Lily with the rest of the decorations and party shit." Jay says and Rose giggles.

"Just need a few more minutes." Rose confirms.

With that Jay went back inside.

"Okay, listen! I don't care! Just don't be late again or God help me, you will be sleeping with one eye open!" Lily shouts into her phone.

Jay leans against the wall waiting for Lily to end her tantrum.

"Aw, okay sorry babe. I was just worried that you forgot about my birthday." Lily says and Jay chuckles lightly.

Lily ends the call and turns to look at Jay.

"Now where were we?" She asks and Jay takes her phone from her.

"You have a boyfriend?" Jay asks seeing a message pop up on her screen.

"No you dummy, ew. I was talking to my best friend. Natasha always calls me to congratulate me, but this time she didn't. She forgot my birthday. But okay, we have two hours!" Lily tells Jay suddenly remember there is still a few things to do.

Jay helped Lily set up the rest of the decorations for her party and setting the lights and speakers.

Rose walked in to the living room and looked at Jay worriedly.

"Jay..." Rose says walking towards Jay.

"What's up?" He asks her struggling with the sound system.

"I need to talk to Mia, but she isn't answering her phone. Even Liam's messages aren't going through." Rose says and Jay walks towards her, taking her face into his hands.

"They are probably just busy." Jay says and Rose sighs.

"I hope that's the case. Anyways, what time is it?" Rose asks.

"Time to get your ass ready girl." Lily tells her walking into the room with a few snacks in her hand.

Lily sets the snacks down on the table that is pushed against the wall.

"The guests are on their way. Come, we both look like shit. We need to be the party!" Lily says taking Rose's hand and dragging her to Lily's room.

Lily got Rose a purple dress with black lace shoes that fits perfectly on Rose.

The dress makes Rose feel like she's living a dream.

"Girl, you can pull anything off." Lily says touching up some make up.

"I don't know, it looks so fancy." Rose says twirling around and looking at herself in the mirror.

"Girl, we are fancy." Lily says making Rose giggles.

After getting ready they head downstairs and noticed there are already a few guests downstairs.

"I'm so sorry, I'm late for my own party." Lily says making the three girls that they are walking towards laugh lightly.

"You got to make your dramatic entrance like usual!" A short blonde girl exclaims.

"You know it! Oh my gosh look at you. You look so pretty!" Lily squeals hugging her.

"You look even better than me." The young woman says and turns to Rose.

"I don't think I know you... I'm Patricia!" She says hugging Rose.

"I'm Rose. It's nice to meet you." Rose says hugging her back.

"Rose, this is Savannah, Tracy and as you already know, Patricia." Lily introduces Rose to the three girls infront of them.

"It's nice too meet you guys." Rose says smiling at them and hugging Tracy and Patricia.

"Hey you two." Jay says walking towards them.

"Oh my god, Jay! When last did I see you?" Tracy says smiling up at Jay.

Jay leans against Rose, pulling her closer to his side and chuckling softly.

"You saw me three months ago." Jay says matter of factly and Tracy nods.

"It's been too long since we all hung out." Patricia chips in.

"Oh, Lily, I forgot to tell you, my parents are only coming later, my mom has a meeting in the office until four." Patricia says and Lily shrugs it off.

"It's all good. My parents aren't going to be joining our party. They say they not as young as us to enjoy the alcohol and the party vibes." Lily says making Jay laugh.

"I think there are more guests at the door." Jay states and Lily heads off greeting all the new guests that have arrived.
