A week later
Asher's POV
I woke up before Laylia. She was still sleeping next to me. She looked a bit tensed up. I put my arms around her waist and she relaxed, she even snuggled closer. Gosh she's so cute!
Laylia is really sad, not like she doesn't want to leave the house or speak to anyone, but she's sad and it makes me sad to see her like that.
On the bright side, Jasmine can leave the hospital and come home. She'll have a few checkups here and there but she can come home again. Unfortunately, the house won't be as quiet but it'd be good to have her back. Mom and Dad are going to fetch Jasmine later while Laylia and I stay here.
I felt Layla move so I looked down to her. When I did, she kissed my lips.
Layla: Good morning Teddybear.
Asher: Good morning Princess.
I kissed her forehead and smiled.
Asher: Jas is coming home today.
Layla: She is?! Yay!
I laughed. Those two are like sisters so of course she'd be this excited, well they will be sisters.
Asher: My parents are going to leave a bit later.
Layla: Okay.
Asher: So we'll have the house to ourselves.
Layla: Okay. We can do something fun then.
Asher: Really?
Layla: Yeah. We can do whatever we want.
Asher: Yeah.
I ran my hand through my hair and I saw her blush a bit. She then got herself out from my arms and stood up from the bed.
Layla: I don't know about you but I'm hungry so I'll make us breakfast.
Asher: It's already 12 so it'd be lunch.
Layla: Either way, I'll make us something to eat.
Asher: You should rest. I'll make us food.
Layla: Teddybear, I'm making us food and you can't change my mind.
Asher: I know but I can still try.
I pulled her onto the bed and ran for the door. Just before I completely left the room, she ran past me and into the kitchen.
Layla: You can't change my mind. Now sit down.
Asher: You can't make me.
She gave me an intimidating look which definitely intimidated me so I sat down. She smiled as she did her thing in the kitchen. She's definitely the one I want to have for the rest of my life.
Layla's POV
After chasing Asher away from the kitchen, I looked around and started cooking pasta, which was Asher's favourite, and I decided to add some spice. At that moment, I heard Mrs Andrews enter the kitchen.
Talia: Hello Layla.
Layla: Hey!
Talia: We're going to the hospital now, we'll be back in about an hour. Do you need us to get anything?
Layla: No thanks.
Talia: Okay. Be good.
Layla: What's that supposed to mean?
Talia: You and Asher are going to be home alone.
Layla: Yeah, so...?
Talia: So you'd be free to do whatever you adults would do with your partner.
Layla: Well yeah, we're going to be together- oh...
She was talking about THAT...
Talia: Yup! I don't mind just maybe don't get pregnant before you're married.
Layla: Okay.
Talia hugged me and walked out of the kitchen. She really is like a mom to me, well she could end up being my in-law.
Asher's POV
Dad came up to me while Mom went into the kitchen.
Jake: Hey Son.
Asher: Hey Dad! Are you guys leaving now?
Jake: Yeah, we'll be back in about an hour. Do you need anything?
Asher: No, I don't think so.
Jake: Are you sure?
Dad gave me a weird look and I realised what he was trying to say.
Asher: Yes. She's still trying to get over the incident with Jason and her father's passing, and I know she's not ready for that.
Jake: I raised a good son.
Asher: Yes you did.
We laughed. Dad walked to the door and Mom followed shortly. When the door closed, I walked into the kitchen.
Layla's POV
I heard the door closed and felt arms wrap around my waist shortly after. I smiled and turned my head to give Asher a peck on his cheek.
Asher: The food smells great! Are you sure I can't help?
Layla: I'm sure, I've got this.
Asher: I know.
Asher rested his head on my shoulder and he whispered into my ear.
Asher: It's just that you've been through quite a bit in the past two weeks. I want to help you somehow.
Layla: You're so sweet.
Asher: Is that your way of saying I can help?
Layla: Maybe.
He turned my head with his hand so I'd meet his eyes. His pretty blue eyes.
Asher: Please?
He's so cute!
Layla: Okay.
Asher: Thank you!
He kissed my lips and quickly washed his hands. I really want to marry him!
A few minutes later
Third person
While Layla wasn't looking, Asher tasted some of the pasta sauce.
Layla: I hope you plan on putting that in the sink when you're done.
Layla gave him a smirk and he laughed nervously.
Asher: Yup! That's what I was going to do.
Asher smiled. Since the food was done, Layla dished up for them and they sat down to eat.
A while later
They'd finish eating and washing the dishes. They had showered and now they were watching the movie Tangled (Okay I know it's not the most recent movie but anyway). Layla looked at Asher, who looked uninterested.
Layla: We can watch something else if you want.
Asher: No, it's alright. I know how much you love this movie.
Layla: Thanks Teddybear.
The dance scene in Tangled then started. Layla excitedly pulled Asher up to dance with him.
Asher: Princess, I can't dance.
Layla: You've watched the movie so many times, I'm sure you know the steps.
Asher: I do but that's not it. I'm terrible at-
Layla: Teddybear, just try.
They began dancing along to the music and they had fun. Layla was surprised when Asher danced.
Layla: You liar! You're great at dancing!
Asher: I guess so...
They were having so much fun that they didn't hear the door open. Talia, Jake and Jasmine walked in to find them dancing and the couple didn't notice. Talia began recording them while Jake and Jasmine watched intently. When the dance ended, they stood close to each other as they caught their breath. They heard applause and looked to see Talia, Jake and Jasmine. Layla hugged Jasmine gently.
Jasmine: That was so cute!! I didn't know my brother could actually dance.
Asher: *sarcastically* Haha, very funny Jas.
Jasmine: I'm just happy you two are fine. Wait, did you-
Asher: Yes I did. We cleared things up and now we're back together.
Jasmine: Good! I'm kinda tired so I'm gonna go sleep now.
Jake and Talia took Jasmine to her room. When they were gone, Asher kissed Layla.
Asher: I love how you can bring me out of my comfort zone.
Layla: It's just easy to persuade you.
Layla kissed his cheek and he smiled.
Layla: I'm bored now, let's do something else while Jasmine sleeps.
Asher: Like what?
Layla: ...Cuddle?
Layla looked at him with cute eyes and he chuckled.
Asher: You don't have to ask me twice.
They went to Asher's room to cuddle.
