y/n's pov:
I slowly walk over to the destroyed barn, the roof was nearly gone. On one side of the roof only a few planks were left, and on the other side there was a half roof.
The walls was missing many planks, but it was not as bad as the one side of the roof. The doors was gone, it weren't a big barn, but it didn't really matter.
I walked in the barn, seeing some old bird nests, as I was looking around, I see many left over stuff, I didn't knew what was. Walking around the old barn I see a rope hanging from the ceiling.
I climb up it, and gets to the second floor, I choose to sit, where there was less roof, so I could look out in the forest.
I sit down, and let my legs hang on the edge, looking out In the half dark forest, enjoying the silence.
Stars had appeared on the night sky, and shining. Then all of a sudden I feel someone beside me, I slowly turn my head, and see my "attachment" it's black body, nearly invisible now.
It turned it's head slowly to look at me, it's white soul eating eyes, had my full attention. It took me some time to realize, it didn't want to harm me.
It was just sitting with me for comfort. My horror disappeared, and it felt nice with it by my side.
The moon was half way up, when I saw my "attachment" moving, I looked confused at it, and it slowly raised it's "arm" to take a leaf from a tree hanging over the barn.
It folded it's "hand" out, so it was flat, and showing me the leaf. I was still confused, until the creature, breathed in and breathed out, so it made the leaf fly.
Following the little leaf with my eyes, -it was hard to see it- the leaf was now slowly falling down to the ground, and as it landed, something just hit me, now I understood what the creature was showing.
I looked at it again and smiled, it nodded and crawled down the wall. When it hit the ground, it gave me one last glance, and said something that sounded like; 'I'm never far away' and then it was gone.
Staring in long time where I got the last change to see the creature. I was thinking of the thing I just discovered, and why the creature had been so kind to me.
The night was silence, until a car, breaking the silence. I quickly react, and finds a hiding spot.
I hear a car door open and close, and then, nothing for aa minute.
Then I heat footsteps coming closer, I hold my breath, and trying to stay as silence as possible.
The footsteps was now right outside the barn, my heart beating faster, as I see a man walking in the barn. It looked like he was vary familiar with these surroundings.
He didn't even check if someone was here. Was it a homeless? No else he wouldn't have a car. I watching him going the same exact same way as I did, he was crawling up the rope.
I hear his footsteps, on the second floor. I stupidly chose to see who it was, so of course I follow him.
I tired to get up the rope as silent as possible, he luckily didn't hear or see anything, as I got up I see him sitting nearly the exact same spot as I was.
His hair was silver in the moon light, he looked so peaceful, then I began rezoning the person. It was Sam. "Sam! " I say running to him.
He turned around surprised, as I ran into his arms, "Y/n! Is it really you?! " she says in a little Laugh "of course it's me dummy! " I say sitting beside me "what are you doing here? " he asks happily "I should ask you the same! "
We laugh a bit, then he speaks " I found this place for a year ago, I usually take out here when life is hard" he says "anyway, why are you here? " he says more happily "well I just fell over this place today! "
"It's so cool! It's a really good thinking place" I say, he nods in agreement "well... Sam? " I start out hesitating, "yeah, what is it? " he looks at me with his beautiful blue eyes, they was reflecting the stars and moons light.
"Before you came... I had a little visit, by my little attachment" I say focusing on the night sky "and... It showed me something I've never thought of before... Do you want to know? "
"Sure, I would love to" he says
"You know, that every feeling has a colour, for example; Happy has Yellow, Sad had Blue, etc " he nods.
"Well, a leaf never stays the same colour forever, and it can had different colors when it's green, so imagine, your life as the leaf... You live as long as you hang on the tree, and then one day a breeze, let's call it death, comes and takes you"
I paused, to see if he understood, it looked like he did. "As you get carried by the wind, is the memory of you, then when you slowly fall down to the ground, the memory of you fades. And when it lands on the ground, the memory of you is nearly completely gone"
Again I take a little break "but one day a kid, finds the leaf and thinks it looks beautiful, and wonder what tree it hang on, and how you fell from the tree. And the memory of you will go from generation from generation, after you're gone. So at that point the memory of you will never fade. When someone seed you're grave they'll wonder who you was. The point is, the memory of you will never really disappear, you will never fade"
There was silence for some time, "do you understand? " I ask "yeah... It does makes sense somehow" Sam looked like he was thinking deeply over it, "Y/n...?why don't you come back? We miss you"
He looks hopefully at me, I look down "Sam... I can't... " I say slowly "what do you mean you can't?! Is it because of Colby? I can treat you better than he can. " he says desperately, I began feeling uncomfortable, and got up "I'm sorry Sam" and then I walked away even though I didn't want to.
