I noticed someone in the building. Alive. Good thing I left a note on the door for the room I trapped all the dead in or else he wouldn't stay that way.

I'm hiding out in the roofs beside the hospital, waiting to find out how all this plays out. I don't think he knows what happened, he looks like he just woke up from hibernating. A boy and his father knocked him out and took him to their home, treating him and explaining everything to him.

His name is Rick. He was a sheriff here in Atlanta, and soon Rick left the father and son.

He walked out a building soon after with an asian man covered in blood and guts. But it wasn't theirs. They masked their scent and appearance to look like one of the Dead. Smart. They drove away in their truck and I haven't seen them since.

Today I found a food truck filled with balogna and beef jerky. I was peacefully eating in the truck until I heard a herd of the Dead outside. I killed all 11 of them with my hatchet. Yeah. I count.

After a little while of wandering around I found a group on the outskirts of the city, and thought that I should go and check the camp out. I'm not ready to share my experiences in the beginning of all this. I will keep watch on Rick and see if he's sane, I mean most people are insane and I don't trust anyone. I will follow his truck and hang back, and if there is a camp, I'll see if the people there are stable.

I followed the group that Rick was with, he handcuffed a man to the roof and left him there. I tried to get to the roof but there was too many walkers blocking the way.

I started going to the camp before there car got in the highway, the camp wasn't very safe. I hid in a tree and watched Rick get reunited with his family. The group seemed highly unstable so I went back to Atlanta.

A new herd of walkers joined the already larger herd in the city, so just like Rick and that Asian boy did I covered myself with walker guts and walked right through them. There was some suspicion at first but then after a bit I relaxed my shoulders and made my way through calmly.

Eventually, I found a safe place to stay for the night. I took out my beef jerkey from my bag and started to eat it. I was alone in a closet I had locked myself in for safety.

Later that night I was almost asleep when heard people down stairs. People were there! I looked down finding myself staring at a young woman with her son and two men. I weakly called hello, and when the girl looked up I saw worriness in her face. Then she asked if I was ok. I said no. Why would I be. I have no one left in this world. As I thought to myself I wasn't watching my surroundings. A walker surprised me by tripping down the stairs that went to the third floor of the building. As I turned I let out a blood curdling scream. I shot it. I shot it straight in the forehead. I looked back down giving the expression that I was fine. Then the boy started to cry. He looked up. Frightened.

The woman left her child and the two men down stairs and came and hugged me. She hugged me tightly. I felt like all of this was a dream. I felt like my mom was right beside me taking care of me as I go through the terrors and fears of night mares. Like she would always do.

I never thought I would say this but, I'm a 14 year old girl with no one left.

I couldn't take it no more I left the building with out saying bye to the woman, boy or the two men. So I decided that I might as well go check on what's happening with Rick and the group. I was alone, scared and I didn't know what to do. It's been a month since the outbreak started and I finally found some decent people.

I didn't care how people would react for a 14 year old girl stumbling up in there camp. I walked slowly inside looking around in every direction. A boy my age with stringy brown hair with a brown sherif hat, blue eyes almost getting covered from his brown curly bangs was staring at me and just froze, And so did I. A man raised his crossbow at me and I screamed as a walker stumbled out of the woods I ran for the walker with my hand gripping my knife hidden in my pocket and before I could reach it, I got shot right in my thigh. I looked down and saw the arrow that had hit me.

The adrenaline rush was high so I stabbed the walker right in the eye. I fell to the ground and gasped in pain, the man with the high powered crossbow looked shocked and backed away slowly and called for help. All I remember is that I heard screams and gasps. At that very moment I blacked out.

••••••

I woke up with a jolt and sat up right immediately. The man with the high powered crossbow looked at me.

"I thought I killed you little girl, you can defend yourself. And I know that, also I forgot to say, thanks for killing that walker out there. I didn't see it coming up on me."

I stood up and gasped slightly putting my hand on my thigh and blood covering my hand. I looked up at the man and he avoided my stare. I limped out of the RV and he called after me but I kept going.

"Where's my knife?"

I snapped at him. He flinched slightly and grabbed my shoulder.

"Don't touch me!"

I snapped again and fell, gasping as my leg bled more. I looked around and noticed everyone looking and staring at me as I tried to get up. Then I got light headed

"Help me,"

I mummbled as everything went black again.

••••••

I woke up in the RV again in the same place. A woman with kind eyes and short hair looked at me.

"Hi I'm glad you're awake. I'm Caro-"

"What do you want?" I snapped.

She didn't even flinch so I muttered something about my leg.

I looked at the doorway and the boy was there. I sat quietly only slightly flinching as Carol poured rubbing alcohol on my leg, I knew it would sting but I didn't feel anything. I was always numb. The boy opened his mouth but no words came out. The woman asked what my name was and I sat there thinking, I didn't want to let it out. But I didn't want to lie.

"A-Amberly, you can call me Amber." I stuttered nervously. " I caused you people enough trouble and supplies." I ask trying to stand.

"It's okay Amber, just lay down. Where are your parents or family?" She asked

My eyes went wide and I just sat there.

"They're dead," I replied "maybe my sister is alive, she's a survivor. We didn't know where our parents went. All we know is the military shot them. My sister and I have been alone since."

Then I stood up and walked outside. The woman tried to stop me but I needed my bag. My stuff was in there, the stuff I cherished most. I didn't see anyone around. So I decided to wait a bit and get settled. And maybe get trust from some people. Maybe then I could get my stuff back.
