"You coming?" Rick asked everyone as we were just about done packing. Rick said that we were going to the CDC and try and figure out what was going on. We drove into the city, I was in Daryl's truck, the others were either in the RV or the small car we took from the city.

We approached the building. There were walkers everywhere. I held my knife tightly as Daryl squeezed my shoulder. We walked up and Rick started yelling at the video camera hoping someone was there. I gasped in shock as I saw a bunch of walkers approaching. I tended as Carl and Lori came into view. Then just as we started giving up the doors opened.

"The doors will never open again." That's what we heard from the man.

The only man left at CDC. I shivered but the air was warm. I saw all of the lights turn on and he led us down a hall way and into a large computer room, a hallways of rooms where we set our stuff down, and then the kitchen. The adults relaxed in there rooms as me Carl and Sophia where in the game room.

I started sharpening my knife while Carl watched me so carefully and Sophia looked at my clothes in horror. I just sat there and absorbing everything. Then I looked up slightly as Carl sat next to me.

"Can I help you?" I asked nonchalantly.

"Hello," Carl replied

He seemed so innocent sitting there.

Then I felt cold water touching my cheek, I flinched until realizing Sophia came over and wiped down dry blood off my cheek.

"You don't have a mean bone in your body, do you?" I asked Sophia partly hoping she didn't hear me.

Then she replied with,

"Just trying to be nice."

I sighed and realized she never really saw the horrors outside until she saw me.

"It's ok. You two can leave me alone, I don't bite, well I stab. But only walkers!" I said sarcastically.

Sophia flinched.

"Sorry my sense of humour is a little demented." I spoke realizing Carl and Sophia are too innocent to be around me. So I stood up and walked to my empty room with my bag.

I kept it packed. I didn't trust this place. Then I sat down and felt a tear slide down my face as I looked at my family photo. I felt tears sliding down my face but I was silent. Then I looked up to see Sophia standing in the door way watching the tears slide by.

Sophia ran and hugged me.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
I just looked her straight in the eyes,
"If I die nobody would be sad. My mom, dad, brother and sister are all dead. My leg won't stop bleeding and I've seen so many horrors from the outside." I replied.
"It's ok, everything will turn out the way it's supposed to be!" Sophia exclaimed.
"You don't get it do you, you don't have a mean bone in your body." I whispered quietly.

Sophia just sat there next to me rubbing my back, saying things to me that sounded distant and rushed. Then I let out the loudest scream I could pull as her hand accidentally put all her weight my leg as she tried to stand.
"I'm sorry!" She yelled.
Daryl rushed in "What did you do to her!" He yelled as Sophia ran out of the room.

I looked down and noticed that my baby blue sheet was dyed in dark red blood. Carl rushed in with looks of horror. Everyone began yelling at each other, as I felt the darkness engulfing me. I beckoned over Carl and Daryl.

"Don't worry about me." I was starting to loose all my hope that I was going to survive another day."
I mean I lost a lot of blood. A lot of it.

Daryl picked me up as I gasped in pain.
He looked at me straight in my piercing brown eyes and said,
"Amber, you will have another day, do not leave me." His voice cracked as he spoke "Sophia, answer my question. What happened?" Daryl asked as his voice raised a little.
"Daryl! Stop she's just a kid!" Carol argued.
" I accidentally touched her leg when I was standing up and it started bleeding." Sophia stepped in.

"Hang in there Amber, you won't die I promise." Daryl whispered as tears built up in his eyes.

Everyone watched as I was laying on the bed. Slowly my eyes closing.

I shot my eyes open. I was hallucinating. It looked like Carl and Daryl were walkers. They were the only ones left in the room. Watching over me. About to bite. Eat me up.
" this is the day I died, on this bed. This is the last I will see, better than out there." I whispered.

I looked around with my eyes half shut, but I wasn't in my room anymore. I was being carried somewhere. I was in Daryl's arms as he watched me and continuesly looked up to see where he was going. I heard people running and yelling all around me. I looked up and saw Daryl looking down at me with tears rolling down his cheeks. Then he set me down on the cold ground. He violently crashed the window as several peices of glass crashed on the pavement on the outside of the building.

I gasped in pain as Daryl picked me up. We started running.
"Where are we going Daryl" I whispered.
"We are all leaving. You will see why in a second." Daryl replied as quick as possible.

We all got into the RV. I felt sort of bad that I had to take up the couch because of my leg. The RV shook as i heard a big explosion. Then I thought to myself. Where is my stuff?
Then I looked around to see if Carl was here. Thank god he was.
Then everything was going black.
