"awesome job, lo'ak!" you praised him, as he shot a fish with his arrow. he chuckled.

"guys, look!" lo'ak spoke, you both turned around to see the other boys have left you both.

"guys?" you shouted, attempting to find the group of boys who led you beyond the reef. lo'ak and yourself slowly wandered trying to find the boys.

"guys come on, this isn't funny!" he yelled. nobody said anything. you couldn't help but look a little scared. "hey," lo'ak spoke grabbing your attention, "we are going to be okay-" his affirmation was cut short, when a huge akula emerged from beneath the sea biting lo'ak's ilu. lo'ak flew off of the ilu as it tried to run away, making crying noises.

"lo'ak!" you exclaimed. "get on!" he climbed onto your ilu, but before you could swim away the akula bit your ilu as well flying you and lo'ak into the air. you fell into the water looking for lo'ak and he swam to you finding you first. lo'ak was looking into a direction you quickly followed and the akula began swimming towards you two. your eyes widened and lo'ak grabbed your arm and pulled you with him towards a coral. the akula began biting the coral trying to break through. you and lo'ak swam deeper into the coral, as you were swimming further into the coral the akula bumped you into the side of the coral and you winced in pain, you began tearing up in fear and swimming quicker holding your injurged side.

you kept swimming deeper, and deeper into the coral when you stopped. you no longer saw the akula. your slight joyfulness was cut short when you turned to a noise, it was lo'ak. he was losing air, you signed, "lo'ak breath, my boy." in sign language. he tried, but shook his head and started to swim up and out of the reef. you followed him out of worry. but as soon as you two exited the coral, the akula started to charge you two. now you were losing oxygen, but tried to follow lo'ak as he swam away.

something bigger charged the akula, killed it. your eyes widened and you looked around to see lo'ak, losing even more oxygen. his eyes began to droop and you swam over to him with worry, you tried to pull him up to air with you. unfortunately he was too heavy and your eyes began to droop and everything began to go dark.

"y/n!" you heard someone saying your name over, and over. shaking you repeatedly. your eyes began to blink open, and you were met with lo'ak's wet face. his face was wet with water, and tears. he was worried you slipped away from him. he would never be able to live with himself if he knew you died trying to save him. "thank eywa, you are alive!" you lifted you into a hug, embracing you and rubbing your back. when you winced he pulled away quickly observing your body. he saw many scratched and bruises, he looked at your face and you had a cut on your lip and eye. "oh baby, you look worse then me." he felt terrible, you looked worse then him.

"i'm okay, as long as im alive and with you." he leaned in to kiss your lips. you kissed back and pulled away to look down and see what you were sat upon. it was a tulkun. you scrambled to your feet, stumbling a bit before lo'ak stood too and grabbed your forearms pulling you close to him.

"come, y/n/n." you followed him as he pulled you to the edge of the creature you have never seen before. you and lo'ak cautiously slipped into the water to greet the tulkun. tsireya told the both of you the animal was friendly.

"hello." you spoke and signed, greeting the creature with a smile. the tulkun's eyes beamed with happiness and he made a sound as a way to talk to you, but you understood.

"thank you, for saving us." lo'ak spoke smoothly signing some words but chopping them up. the tulkun made a noise in response.

the tulkun's name is payakan, payakan took you and lo'ak back home. as you approached shore, you saw many people frantically wandering around.

"i am guessing they are looking for us." you spoke. lo'ak nodded at your statement.

"thank you payakan, we will have to swim from here." he signed and slipped into the water offering you his hand. you took it and followed him in.

as you swam to shore you held your side and walked out of the water. your mother, father, neytiri, and jake all ran to you.

"oh my baby!" your mother exclaimed, grabbing your shoulders and looking over your body. your father stood and turned to look at ao'nung who could see your fathers anger beaming through his eyes.

"y/n are you alright?" neytiri asked you, looking at your wounds.

"i'm okay." you spoke looking at your mother and neytiri. jake pulled you and lo'ak into a hug. your family and neytiri joined.

"im glad you kids are okay." jake spoke with concern in his voice placing his hand on the back of lo'ak's neck. though someone caught your eye behind jake. ao'nung.

you stormed over to him feeling your body burn in flames. your eyes met his face, but so did your palm. the crowd of people watching let out "ooooo's" and gasps.

"you could have gotten us killed!" you yell in ao'nungs face. he looks down in guilt. "you have nothing to say, not even an apology?" you scoff and cross your arms over your chest. your tail whips around in anger. you feel a hand rest on your back you look over your shoulder and see lo'ak's face.

"i'm sorry, i did not know you would get hurt." ao'nung spoke looking up at you for a second then looking down. lo'ak wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you behind him.

"bottom line is, you ever put y/n in danger again. i promise it will be the last time you put anyone else in danger."
