Lo'ak is royally fucked, he knows at some point in the night, he'll get caught, and he will be yelled at. — which isn't a surprise, nothing new either.

But he thinks, yeah this is worth it, he's sneaking out to see you after all. — you with your stupid perfect hair, and your stupid shells and arm bands and-
Oh, he figured he'd need to do a lot more to find you, it's late and everybody else is sleeping which is why he's even doing this in the first place.

but you're sitting at the edge of your murai, you're gorgeous - which isn't a surprise, the light from the stars causing your skin to glow, they highlight your eyes, and your nose, and your lips — your eyes literally twinkle, twinkle for gods sake.

He doesn't know what's the matter with him — honestly. You're just a person, he's just a person, so why is he so enthralled by you?

He thinks it's because you listen, and not just stare at him while he yaps about something, you actually listen — you ask follow up questions to whatever he's saying, you nod along, you actually give him time out of your day.

it's literally the bare minimum, he's kinda embarrassed if he's being honest — I mean come on. But he's never really had the bare minimum, everybody has always brushed him off, saying ''Not now, maybe next time, I'm too busy.''

You start to get up, and he knows he'll have to be quick if he wants to catch you. Running quickly along the bouncy pathways he catches up to you — tapping your shoulder which causes you to whip your head around in slight fear, it's literally midnight, so why wouldn't you be suspicious.

''Oh! Lo'ak, it's just you..nearly scared the life out of me.'' God, even the way you say his name is perfect. You give him a soft smile motioning him to sit back down with you, and when you do, you start to swish your feet softly in the glowing water below.

''I missed you.'' lo'ak grimaces, idiot, they're gonna think you're a weirdo. He quickly looks away — too scared to see your expression after his confession.
However what he doesn't expect is you leaning your head on his shoulder, almost whispering the words, ''I missed you too, more than you know.'' — he's shocked, to say the least, he figured you would brush it off, maybe even leave, but no this is a much better outcome.

The two of you sit closely, able to feel each other's body heat — the light from the stars hitting both your bodies this time, and as Lo'ak turns his head to look at you, he decides then and there that he'd travel light years to gift you all the stars in the universe.
