Stella's POV

As I walked to the dining hall my nerves escalated by the minute and my palms getting a little sweaty. I quickly wiped my hands on my pants and fixed my hair the best I could.

Surely if I can face a bunch of mermaids, I can ask him to be my escort? I thought. How hard could it be?

Dinner passed slowly as if encouraging me to seize the moment. I couldn't do it and yet I could and I would.

"You'll be fine. Just go do it. " Hermione whispered

"Shall we place a little bet?" Ron raised an eyebrow while sipping his drink

"But of course. What do you propose?" I grinned

"If you can go and ask Demetrius to be your escort and he accepts then I have to-"

"Eat a spider." I finished my grin growing wider as Ron paled. "and if I can't then I eat the spider. Do we have a deal?"

"Ummn..." Ron mumbled as I began to giggle

"Come on Ron! You aren't going to back out now are you? " I raised an eyebrow

"No of course not!" He glared and shook my hand "Deal!"

I stood up as Demetrius was heading to the fireplace. You can do it Stella, if you value your dignity you will do this.

"Hey." Demetrius smiled "congrats on your score."

"Thank you, you as well." I smiled.

"Do you have an escort?" We spoke at the same time and bursted out laughing

"No do you?"

"No." He smiled his charming smile "Would you like to be my escort? " I nodded eagerly as he took his cool hands in mine. "I thought we could show the world that slytherins and Gryfindors can work together. Be something different."

"I would love to." I beamed as his grin grew even wider.

"Then I shall see you tomorrow my lady." He smiled causing me to stare in awe as he kissed my hand. He chuckled as he made his way back to his table and I to mine.

"So? How did it go?" Ron asked with a mouthful of food

I began to giggle "how would you like your spider, toasted or fried?"
