Stella's POV

the trio and I made our way back up from the party in silence. Tomorrow began the games which meant no more reliance. Sitting on the sofa was the one and only Dolores umbridge.

"What are you doing here? " Ron snapped

"Now Mr. Weasley that is no way to talk to your guide-"

"Guide? What guide? You haven't been any use to us. In fact you've hardly been here at all! You've given us no pointers, no advice, nor explained anything! We've had to figure everything on our own. You are no guide." Rons eyes glowed at Dolores who only tried to make herself taller than she actually was.

"Hold your tongue!" Dolores pointed her wand at Ronald as Hermione's anger boiled.

"Careful Dolores," I spoke coolly "you wouldn't want to get yourself into trouble would you?"

"Trouble?" She scoffed "he's the one that's going to get in trouble."

"I don't think you understand." I smirked "if you kill him, torture him, it could take him out of the games, and they would need a replacement. And that replacement could be you." Dolores cowered back in fear as I stood.

"What do you want?" Harry asked in a bored voice.

"I am here to collect your wands. The game makers want them. "

"For what?"

"For the games of course! If I understand it you are to fight for your wand. "

"What?" Hermione squeaked "they can't be serious can they?"

"Don't believe me? Perhaps I should just summon them here?" Dolores raised her eyebrows as we reluctantly handed our wands.

"Goodnight to you all and tomorrow may the odds be ever in your favor." She simpered and closed the door. A heavy silence fell over the air as we all watched the flames.

"This is it isn't it?" Hermione squeaked her eyes welling with tears "were not going to make it."

"We're going to survive the best we can. And hope we can survive for tomorrow. " Harry hugged Hermione as the three of them joined in a hug. Hermione came out as she engulfed me in a bear hug.

"Thank you." She cried "thank you for all you've done."

"What did I do?"

"You bright into our lives. Gave us the ability to laugh again. Gave us hope that we can survive. We've lived in azkaban for so long and felt sadness, despair, doom, and you've given us a glimmer of hope."

"Glad I helped." I smiled weakly feeling in the brink of tears myself.

"Promise me," Harry said quietly "we will all be friends. Despite what happens in the games."

"I promise." I hugged Harry as the other two joined in. "I will never forget you all."

After sitting by the fire for a while They began to go retire to their rooms. I couldn't sleep despite how much I tried. I crept out of the room and headed for the roof tops.

"Can't sleep?" A cool voice sat by a roof window.

"How can I?" I sat beside him as he wrapped a arm around my shoulder.

"Nervous?" I whispered laying my head on his shoulder.

"Very. And you?"

"I'm terrified."

"You'll be fine. You passed the challenge."

"Still terrified." He chuckled as a comfortable silence passed over us

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure." He shrugged "what is it?"

"When George asked why you picked me..... What was your reason?"

"It won't matter." He spoke looking out the window

"Well if it doesn't matter why can't you tell me?"

He stared with his cool green eyes into mine "you want the truth?" I nodded. "I like you." My mouth opened in shock as he continued "I know you don't feel the same way-"

"What makes you say that?"

"Because your in love with Neville and he's in love with you!"

"I'm not in love with Neville. He's one of my best friends and he has looked after me for a very long time. He's like a brother to me."

Demetrius looked down in embarrassment. I crawled in front of him and lifted his chin

"Demetrius. It's not him it's you." I whispered as his eyes widened

"Me?"

I nodded "it's always been you."

His eyes filled with joy as he bear hugged me and laughed relieved. The clock struck midnight as we separated a bit.

"I should go. " I smiled weakly

"Me too. " He stood up as he offered his hand. "I'll see you soon."

And with that we parted ways. For it would probably be the last happy moment I had with him for a very long time.
