Friday night started out as just a typical night.

Tim and Lucy had finished up with their volunteer work down at the city housing center and were now home.

Pulling things out of the fridge and cabinets getting ready to cook dinner.

All of a sudden the phone rings.

"Dad, look I know it's last minute but .. something came up with work and Sarah is still at that retreat until morning. Can you and mom keep the kids tonight?"

" We are wheels up in 20 and the sitter has school tomorrow."

Tim looks to Lucy with a smile. "Yeah, of course Nathan. Have they eaten?"

Nathan pauses for a minute. " Yeah, I believe so." Tim still watching the happiness grow on Lucy's face.

She always loves having the grandkids over.

When Mathew was born she was so excited. And then following summer they were blessed with the news of Judith.

Mathew now 6 and Judith 4 they were Lucy's whole world.

"Okay, well be safe! And let the sitter know we will be there in 30." Tim is smiling through the phone.

He was pretty excited too.

He had picked out this new baseball glove for Mathew a few weeks back and wanted to start teaching him to catch.

He already had little league on his mind. Bonding with Mathew was one of Tim's favorite things to do.

Judith was the most precious thing in the world to her grandpa.

She was the spitting image of her grandma.

And even though Tim had seen many pictures of Lucy as a little girl growing up, nothing compared to watching this beautiful little version of her grow before his very eyes.

"Well, I suppose we can pick up snacks on the way" Tim says to his wife watching her put the items back in the fridge.

"Yes. Oh! You know what? We could get hot cocoa and make a blanket fort in the living room?"

Lucy's eyes started to grow with excitement. Tim chuckles "We can do anything you want babe."

Tim put the truck in park and sat in the driver's seat while Lucy ran into the market. He was listening to a song he hadn't heard in about 25 years and it suddenly brought him back to his late 30s.

He was watching a recording of two of his now closest friends as they propose to one another on a hidden camera.

It was playing on the big screen. As he and all their friends and co workers celebrated together.

After the speeches a song started to play over the speaker.

The lyrics to the song were about having it all if given a chance.

Tim had been dealing with a lot lately.

He started secluding himself to his house.

If he wasn't at work or at the gym he would be home with the occasional run to the market or daily walk with Kojo.

Forget about a social life anymore.

Even though he was dating Ashley he found excuses for why he couldn't meet up with her.

Either something had come up or he just wasn't really feeling in the mood.

He was treating the relationship like it didn't matter after Ashley told him she had no intention of marriage or children in the future.
