Lucy reads a book with Judith on the coach while Tim and Mathew get changed into PJs.

"What game would you like to play tonight Bug" Lucy asked Judith.

"Well, I don't know. Maybe we can do a story instead?"

"Okay, that sounds like fun"

"What sounds like fun?" Mathew says as he jumps on the couch next to his sister.

"Your sister wants to do storytime instead of a game. But we are trying to figure out what story to read"

Mathew looks at all the "baby books" next to the entertainment center. "But these books are for babies!" Mathew crosses his arms. He is more like his father then sometimes Lucy realizes. He had a bit of stubbornness about him.

"Okay, maybe we can just tell you a story?"

"About what? Judith looks up at her grandma now getting excited.

"Let's asks your grandpa"

A few moments later Tim comes around the corner.

He had been finishing his nightly routine and making sure to take his meds and write out a list of things to remember tomorrow.

Tim had aged pretty well managed to keep an active life with Lucy. They had traveled a lot over the years. Picking places that would require keeping in shape.

Lucy was still a decade behind Tim in age so she hadn't really started feeling age creep in.

In fact Tim thought she never looked more radiant.

It was nice having her there to help on his bad days.

She was there when he forgot what he was looking for and when he would struggle to remember the name of someone or something  and when his right knee was giving him issues.

They had moved down stairs about a year ago.

Lucy had convinced him that the downstairs room had better heating and so on cold nights she wouldn't feel a chill walking to the restroom.

Tim made a comment about keeping her warm. But in the end Lucy won the debate.

So Nathan and Shawn, their oldest and youngest had come over and moved them from the upstairs suite to the back room on the first floor.

Lucy secretly worried about Tim's knee giving out while he was climbing the stairs and wanted to be safe.

Even though  Lucy tried to play it off like this move was for Lucy, he knew it was one of her many ways of looking out for him and he appreciated that she didn't spotlight his aging as the reasoning behind the move.

Tim came around the corner looking at the view of the living room.

There was a fire going in the fireplace, hot coco on the table. Blankets pilled up on the chair ready to build a fort. And his partner. Snuggling up on the couch with their two beautiful grandchildren.

Tim flashes back to the second date he and Lucy shared all those years ago.

He remembered what she was wearing, How she had her hair. He missed her long hair (Even though she was the most beautiful woman on the planet no matter how she did her hair. )

He remembered how he felt completely at ease with her that night.

They had tried the night previous and well, things just didn't go right after the incident at the restaurant so they were forced to reschedule.
