How I Met Your Grandma

Chapter 5

Lucy takes Judith to the restroom to clean her hands and face from the dirt she accumulated in the backyard as Tim has Mathew help him run out the trash.

Dylan and Shawn were catching up on the coach.

Sarah walks through the front door as Dylan puts down the drawing Judith had done earlier.

"Hey family!" Sarah says as she places her bag on the side chair.

"What a fun surprise, You're brother is 15 mins out"

"Oh, that's perfect" Lucy says coming around the corner Judith's tiny hand wrapped in hers. "Mommy!" Judith runs to hug Sarah. " Hi Pumpkin" Sarah runs her hand ever Judith's head." Did you have fun with Nana and Papa?"

"Yes! We heard stories"

"Oh, yeah? What kind of stories?"

"About Grandma and Grandpa"

"Well, that sounds like fun"

"Hey Mom, Nathan wanted to just stay here tonight, but I see you already have a full house."

"Nonsense!" Tim interrupts while closing the back door entering the kitchen.

"Your mother would be so happy to have you all under one roof don't you dare take that from her" Tim kisses Sarah on the forehead with a smile.

"Okay Dad, when you put it that way" Sarah smiles. happy to be home.

"Come on Shawn lets head to the market pick up some stuff for the weekend."

"Can I come too?" Mathew ask while playing with his toy cars on the dining table.

"Yeah Boot, Lets give the ladies time to catch up"

A few moments later the guys are out of the house and the girls are all sitting in the Livingroom. Dylan, Lucy and Sarah drinking tea and Judith with her juice in a sippy cup.

" What's this baby?" Sarah says to Judith as she picks up the drawing on the table.

"Its Grandma and Grandpa" Judith says looking up from her doll.

"I remember when you use to coach my team." Dylan says smiling at her mother fondly.

"Did I ever tell you that we use to coach your cousins team together. When we first started dating?" Lucy says to her daughter.

"I mean, I think I knew you had coached Tyler. But, I didn't know it was when you were newly dating." She looks intrigued.

Dylan loved hearing about her parents history. They had such an amazing background. So many things they had experienced in their individual lives. But they had some insane experiences as partners as well.

Dylan thought about law enforcement when she was younger still trying to establish who she wanted to be in the world.

She had come across some of her moms boxes she had stored after a remodel on the house they had redone the office space. Dylan was looking into old cases to get ideas for a paper she was writing for class.

Inside one of the boxes she found news paper articles and a dvd. She recognized Her Mothers Maiden name on a report. and inside a file she saw a head line. "Roslyn Dyers being charged with abduction and attempted murder of an LAPD Officer."

She looked to her left and saw an old set of car dvd players they used on roundtrips. She plugged it into her moms SUV in the garage.

As she loaded the video her thoughts starting racing.

Is this her mother? How long ago was this? she looks so young. What is she inside? What was going on?

As the video played she heard her mother sing.
