How I Met Your Grandma

Chapter 4

Lucy had woke just after 7. 

Tim had already been awake a few hours. He had gone for a walk and then stopped at the corner store to grab eggs. 

Lucy came out of the bedroom. Towel around her head still in a robe. Tim was cooking breakfast, flipping the pancakes. 

Judith was sitting at the bar. She was coloring a picture of her grandma holding a ball.  and grandpa holding a baseball bat. 

"What are you drawing little Bug?" Lucy asks Judith. 

"its a picture of you and Grandpa playing baseball! Grandpa told me you used to be a team." 

Lucy pauses a minute looks to her husband and says, "We are always a team." 

"She woke this morning with lots of questions" Tim informs Lucy

"Story time is gonna have to wait until Mathew wakes." Lucy reminds them both

"Hey, We cant help it if you two like to sleep the day away. We have been awake for hours." Tim says in a teasing manner.

"Its like 8am hardly missing a whole day" Lucy rolls her eyes.

"Go get your brother up Princess, We need to eat and maybe go play in the yard a bit before your mom gets here." Tim says to his Granddaughter.  Judith smiles at her grandpa. Jumps off the seat and runs into the fort still set up in the living room. 

"Good morning sleepyhead" Tim reaches over and pulls in his wife still rubbing her eyes while fixing her coffee. 

"I cant help it, It was a really good dream" She reaches up and kisses Tim. 

He picks up on her flirtatious tone.

"Oh really? " He kisses her again. "Well, you will have to tell me all about it when the kids leave"

"Deal."

Lucy goes to put up the blankets as Tim finishes cooking breakfast. 

Suddenly a knock at the door.

"your mom doesn't land until 11? Tim is puzzled. "I wonder who that could be" Lucy says while heading to the door. 

"Nolan" she says answering the door.

"Good morning" Nolan says as he sees the kids folding blankets.

"Uncle Nolan!" The children say while running up to great him.

"Hi Guys."

"I wanted to drop off that book set Tim lent me while I was out at the doctors today"

"Everything okay?" Lucy questions.

"Yeah, yeah. Everything's good" Nolan reply's  

"Well, come on in" Lucy says as she closes the door behind him.

"We were just getting ready for breakfast"

Nolan smiles showing appreciation  for the offer. "Yeah, I could eat"

 Tim laughs 

After breakfast Nolan joins Tim, Lucy and the children out back. 

"What a nice day. I'm glad I got a chance to visit"

Nolan wasn't very social in the past few years after Genny's passing, and it was really nice to see him.

 He had aged fairly well. But after losing his wife he really hadn't been the same.

"Tim and I have been telling stories about how we met, and fell in love to Mathew and Judith." Lucy says to Nolan as they all sit on the deck, watching the kids play in the tree house.
