Chapter 24
"Get off me!" Quackity snarled, fighting, trying to get out of the hold Techno had on him. Phil had taken them from the nest today, saying that now that Tommy was here, was the perfect time to do ground training in the yard again. They had made him put on a trenchcoat that obviously belong to Wilbur, and Phil insisted on a keeping his neck warm with a bandanna that belonged to Tommy. Neither, he or Tommy were not happy about that. The reason Techno was restraining him, was because he had refused the exercise and so when Phil came over to do a repeat of the last time they did the exercise out side, Quackity had covered his ears and had tried to go back inside. Techno had caught him and had brought him back to Phil, with Quackity kicking up snow the whole time. Techno had no right to be so strong, the fucking bastard.
"Come on, mate. You did them in the nest." Phil said, looking amused rather than annoyed, which just doubled down on the feeling that Quackity was losing his touch. Hands already touching his wings at the joint, maneuvering them into the positions, and holding them there at the count of ten. "We got to help those muscle prepare to hold your weight."
Tommy sending victorious looks at Quackity like it was some victory at doing the stretches all by himself. Like it was some victory to look like a fool out in public. At least inthe nest it had just been Quackity and Phil and maybe a few crows. Here, outside in the yard, there was an audience.
"I don't care." Quackity snarled, trying to aim a backwards kick at Phil, only to be stopped by Techno, who intercept with the tip of his boot, firmly knocking his legs further apart where he was made to place weight on both his feet or he'd fall and have only Techno holding him up.
"Well, I do." Phil chirped. Hands maneuvering the wings into their final stretching position and counting to ten, before he let them go. "Thanks Techno." He smiled, patting Techno on the back as he resumed his position in front of he and Tommy.
"No, problem. I'm going to go grind, maybe go hunt some hoglin or something. Later." He grunted, releasing Quackity, giving him the side eye before leaving.
Quackity noted that Techno stopped to chat with Wilbur before continuing on his way. Wilbur, who had been leaning against the house, eyes not watching them but the barn with a look that if he had magical power would light it on fire.
A sharp chirp sound, had Quackity snapping himself back to attention, facing Phil. "Very good Quackiy." Phil praised. "I was say that you and Tommy are going to practice flapping. Now I don't expect you to get off the ground, but this will help you find the rhythm at which you need to use to flap your wings." He explained.
"Except me. I'm such a Big Man, I'm able to get off the ground even with down feathers." Tommy gloated.
"Yes, Tommy is able to lift himself about ten feet from the ground for a couple of seconds." Phil nodded, with a chuckle.
"Don't worry, we can't all be great men here." Tommy sending a vicious smile toward Quackity.
Quackity scoffed and rolled his eyes. "I guess that excludes you then, child." He smirked, when Tommy's smile turned sour.
Phil clapped his hands stopping Tommy's rebuttal. "Okay, let's start flapped." He said, apparently choosing to ignore their small squabbled. Phil had his wings spread wide and was slowly doing upward and downward strokes with them, blue eyes bouncing to Tommy, who was mimicking him, then to Quackity who after being giving a very intently prompting chirp, reluctantly started flapping his wings with Phil and Tommy, arms crossed over his chest, not really focusing on giving the wings any energy to make the movements.
"Come on Quackity, mate. I know you can flap a little more enthusiastically than that. Try fixing your posture a bit, yeah?" Phil chirped.
Quackity rolled his eyes and only let his wings flap just a little more energy than what he was giving them. Although he didn't fix his posture. He couldn't understand why Phil was so insistent about the flying thing. Even if he did fly what was to stop someone from shooting him down. This was a waste of time really, but if he wanted to get away he was going to have to pretend.
