Ponyboy's POV
(tw: eating disorder, weird girl, homophobia)

"I promise. You're safe with me." He reassured me gently.

I smiled as I rested my head on Johnny's chest. He just let me; it felt nice.

"How about we get out of the house? We can go get food and watch a movie at the theater." Johnny offered.

"I love that idea." I said, looking at him.

I gave him a slight smile as I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. He smiled softly back at me as he stood up, ruffling my hair.

"I'll wait outside so you can get changed." He said quietly, and with that he walked out the door, closing it behind him.

I stare at the door for a few seconds longer before sighing and standing up. I walk over to my dresser and pick out a purple t-shirt and a rough pair of jeans. I just had to hope for the best that I looked tuff and not lousy. I slip my shirt off and stared at myself in the mirror. I looked like a ghostly skeleton. gross. I huffed and slipped the shirt I had picked out on. I took my jeans and put them on. I definitely loss weight because I needed a belt to fit in these jeans.

I looked in the mirror again and fixed up my hair before turning away. I walked out the door to the livingroom where I found Johnny. He was sitting on the couch, fidgeting around with his hands.

"I'm ready to go Johnnycakes," I said as I patted my shirt down. He looked up at me and smiled slightly.

"You're good lookin' Pones.." Johnny complimented shyly.

"Awh, shoot.." I reddened, "You're tuff lookin' yourself."

Johnny chuckled, and we started out the door. We both agreed on eating first since I haven't ate in awhile, and Johnny was hungry too.

When we walked into the diner, I realized how hungry I actually was. I grabbed my stomach slightly as it growled. Johnny looked over at me, shooting me a look that said, 'are you okay?'. I nodded at him, smiling weakly.

"Just hungry..." I confirmed as we got seated by a window.

"Order what ever you want, Ponyboy, it's all on me." Johnny said, grabbing a menu to look at.

"Are you sure..?" I questioned unsurely.

"Yea, never been more sure!" He answered.

I scanned over the menu, looking at all of the food I could choose from. I knew I couldn't get much because I needed to keep it down. Soon the waitress approached our table to get our drink orders.

"Hello, I'll be your waitress today. What can I get you two to drink?" The waitress said with a sweet tone.

"I'll just get water." I replied, looking up to meet the waitress's eyes. They were a pretty hazel that glimmered in the sunlight from the window.

"Uh, yea, I'll get a water too." Johnny agreed, looking up from the menu.

"Alright, I'll get that right out here for you two!" She cheered as she wrote on her notepad  and walked away.

"Did you notice the way her eyes glimmered in the sunlight? Wasn't it pretty?" I said, turning to Johnny.

He huffed, looking out the window.

"Yea, sure."

Johnny didn't seem to be very interested in the conversation's topic. I nodded slightly as I looked back down at the menu. I haven't decided what I wanted to eat. I'll figure it out I guess.

The waitress came back out soon after, and I smiled at her. Johnny looked irritated. She gave us our water and took our food orders before leaving again. Johnny seemed to grow more irritated the more she stood there. I brushed it off as I put my head in my hands.

Our food came out about twenty minutes later, and we ate. When we finished, Johnny paid and we left. Johnny's irritability seemed to fade as we walked out of the diner. I didn't question it as we started our walk to the movie theater.

As soon as we got there, we stood infront of the options for movies. The options are either Stardust or Gone with the Wind.

"How 'bout 'Gone with the Wind'?" Johnny decided with a slight smile.

"You know me too good, Johnny.." I giggled.

"Yeah, yeah, I know" He grinned as he grabbed my hand and leading me into movie house.

My stomach took a flutter. His touch feels like an ignited fire so immense that it gave me goosebumps. I smiled shyly. I thought I might as well loose my lunch. The butterflies didn't stop until we sat down, and he pulled his hand away. I sighed slightly and eased up, getting comfortable.

Soon enough, the movie started. I was excited because I've always wanted to watch Gone with the Wind. A girl that decided to sit in front of us turned around and looked at me. She winked, but I decided to ignore it because I really wanted to watch the movie. She seemed to not get the hint that I was ignoring her since she then took her hand and put it on my upper leg. I shifted in my seat uncomfortably as I looked down at her.

"Hii, I'm Bailey.." The girl whispered, smiling.

She continued to run her hand up and down my thigh. I pushed it off.

"I apologize, I came here to see a movie, so I'm not really interested in a conversation." I whispered in response.

Johnny looked over, noticing the girl who had turned around. He watched her suspiciously as she rolled her eyes.

"Who cares?" Bailey said, putting her hand back on my thigh.

I became fidgety since I was uncomfortable, but Bailey didn't seem to care. She was really getting on my nerves. I looked over to Johnny and his facial expression had hardened as he glared down at Bailey. I jumped slightly. I never seen him look like that before, he looked almost pissed. I'll tell ya, I'd never wanna be the one getting looked at like that from Johnny.

I looked back at Bailey as I felt her hand move away. Did she notice Johnny's glare? Apparently not because she moved quietly and sat in the open seat beside me. My leg started tapping. I was anxious to get out of this situation, but I didn't know how. I couldn't even focus on the movie.

"Hmm," Bailey hummed, "you're one fine looking boy, what's your name, hm? I told you mine~.."

She traced her one finger up and down my arm. I just closed my eyes, half hoping I'd wake up and it'd just be a nightmare. I opened my eyes again, and surely it wasn't.

"Well?" Bailey questioned.

"Um... well..." I stuttered through slightly, "uh... m-my name's Ponyboy."

"Awh, a pretty name for a pretty boy. I like it." She whispered, grabbing my hand.

I tensed up. I started to tear up, I didn't know what to do. She started to lean in. I don't know what she was trying to do, but I felt a tear slide down my face. I brushed it away impatiently as I attempted to push her away. Apparently Johnny had seen me start to cry, and had enough.

I heard a click of a switchblade.
