Louis
The grand ballroom was bathed in a warm, golden glow as the evening unfolded. I stood near the entrance, observing the elegant swirl of gowns and the polished dance floor, where couples moved gracefully to the rhythm of the music. The air was filled with laughter, the tinkling of glasses, and the hum of lively conversation.
Xanthos keeps talking. "And I ask her, 'Why granny? What did I do?' And she looks at me with this stern look. 'Shut up idiota, you crazy child. You deserve to be bathed in fire.' And she dips me into the fire bath, and of course, being a normal being I am, I screech."
Everett and I look at Xanthos with raised eyebrows, caught between disbelief and amusement.
"What the fuck are those dreams?" I ask. "Do you go to sleep high?"
"Right! I wonder why my dreams are like that. They scare the shit out of me." Xanthose replies and Everett chuckles.
Everett turns to Xanthos."By the way, when are you going to confess to Willow?"
Xanthos' eyes widen, and he tries to play it cool. "Oh, you know, just waiting for the right moment. Can't rush these things."
I shake my head. "You should do it before she gets taken, man." And Everett nods, agreeing with me.
Suddenly, I turn my head and catch Daisy's eyes. She standing next to my sisters and Willow, looking... pretty.
(A/N: imagine this but a bit puffy a more blue. But imagine whatever u want.)
She stood amidst a group of people, and for a moment, time seemed to slow. Her figure was draped in a dress I had chosen for her, one that I secretly hoped would look enchanting on her. A mixture of surprise and admiration swept over me as I realized the impact of my choice.
The dress clung to her silhouette, the fabric accentuating every graceful curve. The colour complemented her complexion, and as the light caught the delicate details, she looked almost ethereal.
Daisy looks at me with a small smile playing on her lips. She mouths the words, 'thank you.' I nod.
Suddenly, I walk up to Daisy, ignoring the confused stares my friends are giving me. Ignoring her friends, I extend my hand towards her.
"I think I said I owe you some of my questionable dance moves," I say, looking at her.
She looks at me confused. "You were being for real?" And I nod.
"But, we hate each other." Oh, way to state the obvious, Dasiy.
"And? I owe you a dance and I'm true to my words so shut up and dance with me, Daisy."
She now raises an eyebrow with a small smirk like she's expecting something. It takes me a good whole 5 seconds to realize what she means.
I groan. "Don't make me say it." She continues standing there, waiting for that one word she wants me to utter.
"Fine. Shut up and dance with me, Daisy," I say. "Please."
As she took my hand, a subtle blend of amusement and curiosity in her eyes, we stepped onto the dance floor. I feel everyone staring at us but I focus on Daisy.
The initial awkwardness gave way to the rhythm of the music, and we found tentative synchronicity in our movements. It was a dance of contradictions – the tension of our enmity juxtaposed with the shared space of the dance floor.
Daisy, surprisingly, followed my lead with an unexpected grace. The dress I had chosen for her seemed to come alive as she twirled and moved, the ethereal quality I had noticed earlier now amplified by the dance.
As we circled the floor, I couldn't help but remark, "You know, for someone who claims to hate me, you're not half bad at dancing."
Daisy shot back with a smirk, "Well, you're not as terrible as I expected. Maybe you should stick to dancing and ditch those questionable moves."
I chuckle at that. Daisy keeps quiet for a minute before she speaks up.
"How do you feel?"
I feign confusion. "About what?" She looks at me with a knowing look and I sigh.
"I'll do it, I guess. I want to be king so I'll get married if I have to."
"What about your happiness?" She asks and I smirk at that.
"Does Daisy finally care about me? She's asking about my happiness." I say teasingly and she laughs, hitting me on the chest lightly.
I gracefully twirl her around the dance floor, her figure moving in harmony with the music. As the melodies weave through the air, I bring her back, gently pressing her against my chest.
"My happiness lies with the kingdom, Daisy. If my kingdom is happy so am I." I finally reply to her question.
She keeps quiet now. I know she has a lot of other questions to ask me but she doesn't voice them.
Suddenly, I see my dad motioning for me to stop dancing and come to him. Daisy looks over her shoulder and sees it.
She steps away from me. "Well, thank you for this dance, Your Majesty."
"Not 'Your Majesty', yet," I say with a smile and walk towards my father.
I notice the princess of Russia standing next to him along with her father. I stand next to my father.
"You're getting along with Daisy now?" My dad asks, surprised.
"I guess."
The he clears his throat motioning to the guests beside him. "Louis, this is princess Irina and her father, King Alexander."
Irina waves excitedly at me and I smile in return. King Alexander shakes my head saying I've grown up now. As I exchange pleasantries with Princess Irina and King Alexander, I catch Daisy watching me from across the room. She gives me small smile before turning away to some dude that asked her for a dance. She smiles at him and accepts his hand. I clench my jaw and turn away from the scene.
I see my dad looking at me with a weird look and I raise my eyebrow in question. He shakes his head and continues talking with King Alexander while Irina just smiles at me.
Suddenly my dad walks up to the podium with a mic. "Good evening, thank you for coming today for my son. I've finally decided a bride for my dear son."
My eyes widen and I look at him in confusion.
"Irina, princess of Russia has accepted to be the loving wife for Louis," he announces and everyone starts clapping. Everyone except me. I did not accept Irina. I thought I was going to be given a choice to choose a bride.
My dad keeps talking about the marriage and my crowning ceremony while my eyes accidently find Daisy across the room. Her eyes soften when she sees the shock on my face.
My dad told me I would have a choice to choose my bride but he lied. How is it going to get better?
