"I swear I might lose my mind," Xanthos announces as he drops onto the sofa beside me. I called him over to hang out with me as I was super bored and had absolutely nothing to do.
"What happened?" I ask, watching him take a bite of my favourite digestive chocolate-covered biscuit. I hate every type of biscuit except these digestives. Nothing in the world can compare to this. Not even cookies. Even with cookies, I prefer home-baked or bakery ones. I find the store-bought ones too fake.
"Alright," he starts, shoving the last piece of biscuit in his mouth. "You know I'm about to take over the company, right? Well, it's easier said than done. I have so many things to do and practice to become the new CEO and it is tiring."
He's the sole heir of Rune Empire and he's going to be the CEO soon, which by the way, is awesome. Even if he seems cheerful and light-hearted, he takes business sincerely. His commitment to upholding his family's legacy and ensuring the continued success of the company is unwavering.
"Take a break," I suggest. "Your parents would understand." They would. They are amazing people. Despite their busy schedule, they care for their son, a lot. Joseph and Evangeline would allow him to take a break for a couple of days or even weeks.
Suddenly Xanthos' eyes light. He turns to me with a huge grin. "You remember we did those trips to the cabin a couple of years ago? When we were teenagers?"
I nod. I think I know where he's heading with this.
"Let's do one again! It'll be so fun and relaxing. I think we all need a break. At least for a couple of days. What do you say?"
I remember the trips we took to the cabin. I enjoyed them a lot. The cabin has a beautiful lake beside it, and we'd always go swimming there and just enjoy ourselves. It was a perfect escape from the public eye, a place where we could truly relax and be ourselves without any distractions or pressures. It would be a trip we took twice a year but ever since we all grew up. Just came into adulthood, and those lovely trips stopped due to our schedule.
"I don't know..." I trail off, looking at Xanthos' expression. He looks so desperate that he might even get on his knees and beg for us to do it.
Finally, I nod. "Yeah, we all could use a break. Let's go."
He exclaims.

I sigh as I try to write the next sentence in my story. I seriously don't know what to write. I'm losing my mind right now. I only have a couple of months until the deadline. I have 15 more chapters left and I am so not sure I can finish it.
Just then my phone vibrates with a notification and I pick it up. My eyebrows raise at the message. He's messaged the group chat.
