Louis
Daisy sends me a smile my way which seems a bit fake. Before I can wave or do anything, she turns around and continues talking to Willow. Irina follows my gaze and she smiles.
"Do you want to go say hello?"
I turn to look at her. "Why?"
"They're your friends, aren't they? You can say hello, I don't mind."
Looking at Daisy, I contemplate. Willow makes eye contact with me and sends a small wave. I wave back and turn to Irina. "No, it's fine. Let's go back to the palace."
Irina and I walk out of the restaurant and I turn back one last time to glance at Daisy. She's still busy eating.

"What took you so long?" I ask as Everett takes the seat next to Xanthos. I arrived a bit early and ordered a couple of drinks and Xanthos arrived 5 minutes later. Everett here though, arrived 20 minutes later and we were wondering if he had forgotten about it.
"I was with my parents," he replies, drinking the martini I ordered for him. "They showed me a case that they wanted me to work on. But enough about me, how's it going with Irina?"
I sigh. "We made a truce. Both of us were actually out for lunch a couple of hours ago. She seems nice."
"See!" Xanthos exclaims. "She's not a murderer 'cause she is nice."
Shaking his head at our friend, Everett speaks. "Murderers are also nice. Not that she is one. She is a nice woman."
I blink, not sure what to say. I guess she is a nice person. She has good hobbies but she isn't who I want. I don't want anyone. I don't even want to get married. Marriage isn't in my cards. I don't think it was ever going to be. Now I have to get married and I have no choice.
"It won't be bad, Louis," Everett assures me, removing his glasses. "She seems like a lovely person. I'm sure you guys could be friends if not lovers." Xanthos nods along with him.
I sigh. "I guess."
We all continue talking, them trying to reassure me that everything is going to be bloody alright and I let them think I believe them.
"Oh, did you hear?" Xanthos asks, relaxing in his seat.
"Hear what?" I ask.
"You know the famous hockey player? Rhys Lancaster?" Everett and I nod and Xanthos continues. "Well, right now the season is going on and the team is being promoted by a famous youtuber. Delilah Cameron."
"What about it though?" Everett questions, siping his martini.
"They used to date."
My eyes widen. I lean forward. "Holy shit. Actually?"
Xanthos nods. "Yeah, like high school sweethearts to college sweethearts. They broke up a couple days after he got drafted."
"Why?" Everett asks, his brows furrowing.
"No clue." Xanthos shrugs. "But they were madly in love. Like hopelessly madly in love."
I shake my head at the life changing information. I met Rhys Lancaster when his team had a game at Vafra last year. He was a decent dude and it was disgusting to see how Adelaide fell for him. Not in a minor drake way. Hell nah. She just loved his game and his looks.
"They might get back together." Everett announces and we look at him.
"What?" Everett asks, raising his brow. "They still might have feelings for each other. It could be a second chance romance, you know."
"Did my sister's romance obsession get to you?" I look over at him, hiding my smile with the rim of my glass.
Everett's face goes red and I laugh.
I can tell my best friend has a crush on Florence and they have a healthy relationship. As long as he doesn't break her heart, I'm good with it.
"Enough about me," Everett waves his hand around in dismissal. "Let's talk about Xanthos."
And we do. We give him shit for not confessing to Willow. He's madly in love with her and so is she but none of them are confessing which pisses the whole friend group.

Daisy
"Daisy darling! Come help me set the table." My mother and inspiration, Celeste Emmet shouts from the kitchen.
I groan as I grudgingly go down the stairs. After my lunch with Willow, I decided to visit my parents and spend a couple days here 'cause I've been lonely in my apartment.
I whine as I see my mum still cooking.
"You didn't even finish cooking."
Mum looks at me, with her hands on her hips. "And? Set the table."
Huffing, I set the table. Three plates. For mum, dad and I. Heading to the fridge, I grab my sparkling water and wine for mum and dad. Despite being a grown adult, it feels like a crime to drink in front of them.
Mum brings the food to the table and hollers for dad to come down.
My dad, Atlas Emmet heads down the stairs, his hair a mess. He kisses me on the cheek and heads immediately to mum and kisses her on the lips.
I cringe. "Not here guys. C'mon."
Dad laughs. "Okay, Daiz. Let's eat."
We all take our seats and dig in. Mum asks me how the preparation for my bar exam is growing and I groan. I decided to follow my mum's footsteps and become a lawyer. Maybe the biggest mistake of my life. It's so stressful but hey, I love debating so might as well achieve my goal.
"You know you can change your career path, right darling?" Mum nudges dad who's busy stuffing his face with mum's amazing butter chicken.
Dad looks up, confused but then starts nodding. "Absolutely. I support you no matter what."
"Support me in what, dad?" I smile, knowing he has no clue what we were talking about.
Dad's ear turn red and mum looks at him with a stern look. "Your life choices."
I let out a laugh and his wife scolds him for not paying attention to the conversation. They're dynamic is absolutely amazing.
My mum was rich heiress who did not know what to do with her life. Dad was a playboy, breaking hearts everywhere he went. They met in uni and dad immediately stopped his boyish ways and maned up for mum. Mum didn't accept him at first but after seeing the way he actually changed, she caved in and they've been married for twenty three years. Dated for 5 years.
I want a love story like theirs. A man who treats a women right. Who respects his women, loves her unconditionally.
