Breakfast with the Kazansky's

We all got sat down for breakfast, and I knew that my brother was just waiting to lay it down on Bobby. " So, uhh, You and my sister huh?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows. It made him go a bright shade of red and he stuttered slightly. "Yeah, James." I said saving him adnd blushing in the process. It ddint help that we were sitting close enough to each other that our knees were touching. "Awww. Honey I told you, you were going to meet that special someone when you got to Top Gun." My mom said. "Mom." I gasp. I heard a soft laugh come from Bobby, so I gently kicked him, not very hard, but enough to get my point across.  My brother, smiled wide at me and let out a cheer. "Yeah, look at the baby go! Finally got herself a man." My sister was shaking her head and hit my brother for me. "Thanks." I smiled at her. "Well I think that you got a very nice man on your arm. And if you hurt my sister I will personally see to it that you-"  "LIZZY. Do not." I laughed. "What, I was just going to tell him that he would never fly again." "I think I would rather die than hurt her." He said looking between all of them with a smile on his face.

It made my entire family smile and nod their heads.  For the rest breakfast we all had an amazing time, just talking about any and everything. We were all laughing and enjoying ourselves. When we were all done I helped my mom clean up and I told her that I would do the dished. She tried to protest but I was firm in what I was telling her I was going to do and she threw her hands up and smiled in defeat. Bob came over and was persistant that he was going to help as well since he as a guest and didnt feel it was right for him to not help out around the house. I smiled and shook my head but I didnt tell him that he couldnt help me. I really enjoyed his company and was happy that he seemed to enjoy mine. I could faintly hear them all talking about us in the dinning room but I let it all slip my mind. I knew they were just happy for me. For a while they all thought I was going to be a bachelorette for the rest of my life.

"So, what do you think about my eratic and annoying family." I asked only half joking. He laughed and shook his head. " I think they are lovely and normal. I just hope that they like me." I could tell he was a little nervous but he had no reason to be. "I know that they already love you. Expecailly my mother. My brother is annoying but you dont have to pay him any mind. My sister is pretty quiet but she likes you, and my dad. He respects you, he knows a good man when he sees one and you presented yourself great, so think that he likes you. I dont think I have ever seen them this happy with a person before. Even my mom was hesitant with my sister's husband when she first met him. You should have nothing to worry about. Now I would take you to meet my uncle, but you already know him" I said with a small laugh at the end.

He laughed slightly and looked a little more relieved. "Yeah, I am thankful for that part. Is he any different outside of work?" I think on it for a few seconds before shaking my head. " No. Not really. He's pretty much the same anywhere he goes." I told him with a small smile.  He chucked softly and nodded a long. "Pete will be Pete. I also pretty much grew up with Rooster, but ever since the acadamy he stopped talking to me. He was mad at my uncle, and mad at me since I graduated before he did. To this day he is still mad at me. He wont hardly look at me. Ive tried everything but, he still thinks its my fault. That I had something to do with it." Its what he tells himself to get through the day, Ive known it for as long as I can remember. "Thats not really fair of him to do. You had nothing to do with it. So what if you are better than he is. That doesnt make him bad at what he does." I nodded and smiled along with what he was saying.

"I think thats why Bagman is so mad all of the time. Pheonix and I are better than he is but he wont admit it. Makes him sad that there is no way that he could beat either of us. Her and Andy make a great team.  I graduated with him. He was supposed to be my backseater, but I knew that I would work better alone and probably wouldnt listen to him. I was a lot more like Pete a few years ago, so I told him that I didnt need one. I was never mean about it, I just thought that I was going to hold him back, it would have been more dangerous for him. Plus I kind of used to fly with no plan at all. Lose canon. Better for the both of us then, but now. Jeez I dont know what I would do without you Bobby. I dont like the thought of it."  "I dont really like the thought if it either you know. Im glad that you decided to listen to me sometimes.  And I am happy that you decided that you wanted to try and fly a little more safely that how you used to before. Its almost reasurring." He said to me. I smiled just thinking about all of the things that we could do. I was nervous though, with the way that training if going, i dont know if al of us are going to be ready in time for all of it.
