"Hey I would invite you to celebrate but I'm afraid you'll get tired of me." Bob said. Everyone went back inside or home since the day was over. I laughed and shook my head. " My sweet Bobby I could never get tired of you." He smiled and turned red as he looked away.

{T} I need to talk to you.

{E} Can I bring my WSO, I really think you will like him

{T} I think that would be lovely. I am interested in meeting him.

"Who's that. If you don't mind me asking." Bob asked. "It was my dad. He needs to talk to us." I told him with a smile on my face. "Your dad wants to see me. Admiral Kazansky. Did I do something wrong." He said very shaken up. It made me laugh as I shook my head. "No, you did nothing wrong. He just wants to meet you that's all. You are my first backseater." I said rubbing his arm up and down. It calmed him down enough and he nodded. "Lead me." I nodded and did just that.

It was about a 2 and a half hour drive from Top Gun to there. When I pulled into the driveway, he pulled in next to me. When we got out all he could say was wow. I nodded and led him inside. I was instantly met with my mom and I saw her teary eyes. I knew it wasn't because she was that happy to see me.  I knew that he was bad again. "So, it came back?" I asked. "No one knows. Who's your friend. Your Tom?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows at me after looking behind me. He looked very confused and it makes sense. No one knew about it the first time. "Hi, Ma'am. My name is Robert Floyd call sign Bob. I fly with your daughter." He said very confidently. I was smiling, I was very proud. "Ohh, a WSO." She said looking slightly back at me. He held out his hand to shake but she pulled him into a hug instead. "You better take care of my daughter. I can tell she really likes you." I couldn't see her smile, no, I could hear it. He blushed softly but he nodded. "I will do everything in my power to keep her safe." It was my turn to blush. "Now, you don't kill him. Danger dog." She said pointing at me. I threw my hands up and scoffed. " I will have you know that I have been safe. Ask Mav. I really toned down." I said laughing a little. "You always say that and I really want to see what it would have been like flying with you then." He said with a small smile on his face.

I laughed and shook my head. "No you dont. Im serious. It was bad." My mom laughed too and nodded along. We made our way to the stairs but before going up I wanted to tell my RIO a few things. "Ok, don't freak out. Just think of it like you're going to meet your girlfriend's parents." I told him with a smile on my face but he looked really confused. "I don't have a girlfriend. Nor have I met a past girlfriend's parents. We were like 15."  "Oh, um. Just think of him like he's just another guy. He likes that. He likes to separate work and home. Just call him Tom." I said walking up the stairs and getting in front of the door before it opened behind me. I didn't know I was facing Bob. "I can't just call him Tom, that feels a little unprofessional. How about Mr. Kazansky. Yeah, that sounds fine." But then he looked up and saw my father smiling at him. I turned around to find my dad waving at Bob with a smile on his face. I started to laugh and I hugged my father. "I am so sorry." Bob whispered. It made my dad laugh as I walked over and put my hand on his arm. "Come on Bobby, it's ok." I said, still laughing but I was really trying to comfort him.

We walked into my dad's office and I pulled two chairs over to his screen. My mom said that talking was most painful now. Bob looked down at me with a sad smile for a split second. I smiled up at him and shrugged my shoulders. We sat down and he asked us how it was going so far. I knew Bob was new to this kind of thing so I was going to see him. I didn't think it was this bad yet. But then again I thought it was gone. "Work has been amazing. For never having a WSO before I think I am going great with it. I am a little less reckless now that I have someone to care for, with me all the time. I hope I have been having fun flying." I laughed jokingly while turning to look at Bob. He laughed and nodded. "I don't think I would rather fly with anyone else." He said looking between my dad and I. "Elenore is an amazing pilot. She was the only one to take Mav out in training the other day. It was an amazing thing to be a part of." He said beaming. I smiled at him. "Well there was no way I could have done it without you. You made sure our tail was covered." I said laughing but I was serious. That's how I was taken out.  Pete said you two looked close. I don't think he knows how right he was. I don't think I have ever seen you smile this much.   My dad said. I smiled and looked back at Bob. He was right. I was never depressed or anything but I for sure wasn't this smiley all of the time like I am now. "I forget Mav if your uncle. Man I have to walk in such a fine line or my career is over." He said making a small joke. It made me and my dad laugh. "I am not supposed to tell you this, but he likes you. I think you, Rooster and Phoenix are his favourites." I said genuinely. "What about you?" He asked, I smiled and laughed. "I don't count, he has a bias."

You told him? You never tell anyone.   I smiled knowing he was right. "I knew that I could trust him the second I saw him. And through spending more time with him, he just keeps proving me right." How is Rooster doing with Mav?  I sigh and shook my head. "He is still pretty upset. I mean I understand but he needs to know that he did it for his own good. He wasn't ready." "What happened?"  "Mav pulled his papers. He was set back 4 years." Bob nodded his head and looked quite shocked. "But he did it to better him, right?" I nodded. "He wouldn't do it if he thought he was ready. But I think Rooster is trying too hard to be his father. He needs to calm down and figure out what is going to work for him, not what was better for his father. I'm sure he still blames Mav for that too." They both nodded at that.

Before I knew what was happening. We had spent the entire night talking almost. When I saw the time I looked back and smiled at Bob. "Its 12. Do you want to drive three hours, no sleep and try to survive tomorrow. Or crash here." I said laughing. "Actually, no with what happened last time you're just going to crash here." He was about to protest but shook his head when he remembered. He laughed along with me after a minute. What happened last time?   "He wouldn't stop laughing so I had to drag him to his bed. I stayed there until he stopped laughing and was going to drive home, but I had less sleep than he did, so he told me to stay. I took the couch, but, it was still funny."  Alright you two, go to bed I'll see you in the morning before you all leave.  My dad said before we all went to our rooms. The only problem was my sister and brother were still living here. I was the youngest but, they were also visiting and took the guest bedrooms. I shrugged. We are both adults sharing a bed that won't kill us. I hope. I was a little sad that they weren't here when I was, and now I am sure they are both sleeping so as we walked across the top floor we were deathly quiet.
