Bar Exam Day
Cameron
I had just walked out of the testing center after an exhausting day. But, the bar exam was finally behind me and I could relax slightly. I had taken the rest of the week of my externship off so I could recover from all this stress. It was also All Star weekend this weekend and Jayson wanted me to come with him to Utah. He was currently in Milwaukee since he was playing the Bucks tonight. He'd be back tomorrow morning since he had a game back here in Boston before the All Star break. So my Valentine's Day was going to be boring to say the least.
I headed upstairs to my apartment to find my sister typing vigorously on her laptop at my desk. She had moved in last month and things were going smoother than I expected.
"Hey Trin" I said and then flopped down on my couch.
"Hey, can't talk. My paper is due at midnight and I just started it" she said not missing a beat. I chuckled and scrolled through my messages to text Scarlet.
"You busy tonight" I texted her.
"Noooooo, what's up?"
"Let's do something, I just finished the bar and I think I deserve a little drink" I said.
"Not Ms. Latham needing a drink. I'm sure I can find something for us to do. Be ready by 8 and I'll let you know where to meet me" she said.
"Bet" I replied. I then went in the bathroom to get ready for tonight.
As I was doing my makeup, I got a text from Jayson saying he missed me. I smiled but before I could reply Trinity interrupted my train of thought.
"What's a synonym for substantial?" She said.
"Girl your better google that" I replied.
"Come read this real quick!" She said. I huffed and put my phone down before following her into the living room.
I spent a little more time then I should've helping Trinity so I showed up at the lounge to meet Scarlet about an hour late.
"Hey girl!" Scarlet said hugging me.
"Hey boo, what's up?" I asked taking a seat next to her.
"I was waiting for your ass so I can order these shots" she said. She got the attention of one of the bottle girls and asked for shots of tequila. The girl returned shortly after with a tray of twelve shots.
"Scarlet! Who the fuck taking all these?" I asked.
"Mostly me, but you gotta do at least three with me" she said.
"Scar-"
"Pleaseeee" she begged with a pout on her lips. I rolled my eyes.
"Fine, let's go" I said. Scarlet spoke before we raised our glasses for the first shot.
"To you passing the bar and becoming the bomb ass attorney I know you will be" she said.
"Aww sis! Thank you!" I said. We clinked glasses and downed the first shot. Eventually we were each six shots in. I know I said I'd only have three but once I was drunk, it tasted like water.
We were both out on the dance floor having a ball when I saw Ryan approaching with some guy.
"Guess who" he said placing his hands over Scarlet's eyes. She turned around and leaped into his arms.
"I see y'all been drinking" Ryan said looking at me and chuckling.
"A little too much" I said still dancing.
