Thanksgiving Day

Cameron

I sat in the back of the Escalade that picked us up from the jet as we waited on my sister's flight to get in. Jayson sat next to me engrossed in his phone as I leaned my head on the window. My phone vibrated and a text from my sister popped up.

"She says she's at the entrance" I said. Jayson looked up from his phone and then out the window.

"I don't see anyone" he said moving his head around. I looked too and didn't see her.

"Is that her?" The driver asked pointing at a skinny brown skin girl with dark brown hair. She was wearing glasses, had her hair in 6 cornrows, and was wearing a crop top, leggings, and hoodie wrapped around her waist. She had a backpack and a large white suitcase. A smile appeared on my face as I looked at my little sister.

"Yep, that's her" I said. I got out the car before either of them could respond and ran up to her.

"Trin!" I yelled.

"Sissy!" She said back as her face lit up. I picked her up and spun her around like I used to do when we were kids. I put her back down and we hugged once more.

"I missed you, you getting thick bitch" she said pinching my butt.

"Well you know I be eating good" I said and then laughed. Jayson walked over with a smile on his face as he watched us.

"How you doing? I'm Jayson" he said to Trinity. She gave him a hug and he hugged her back.

"I've been waiting to meet the man that got my sis MIA" she said. He chuckled.

"It's nice to meet you too" he replied.

"Mmhmm, good job Cam. He's cute" she said making both of us laugh.

"Alright well I'm ready to go, you know I hate the airport" she said. I nodded and motioned for her to follow us to the truck. Jayson took her bag over there and then the driver got out to put it in the trunk.

"I'll sit in the front so y'all can talk" Jayson said.

"That's right, you gonna have to share her for the next few days!" Trinity said buckling herself in.

"Trinity!" I said.

"It's all good, I don't mind" Jayson said.

"Okay so let me tell you about this lady next to me on the flight. By the way shout out to you for the first-class tickets" she said.

"No problem" Jayson said looking back at her.

"Anyway, this old white lady had the nerve to ask me if this was my hair. The fuck this look like? We not friends. We not kin. Why you asking me stupid ass questions" she said. I groaned and pressed my fingers to the bridge of my nose.

"Trinity please tell me you ain't curse the lady out" I said.

"Okay... I won't tell you then" she said pursing her lips. I heard Jayson laughing in front of me.

"Don't laugh, it encourages her" I said.

"Girl you know I never needed encouragement" she said. I shook my head and looked out the window.

About an hour passed before we pulled up to Jayson's house in Missouri. It was huge. Don't get me wrong his place in Boston was huge as well, but this was like a castle.

"Damn we gonna get lost in here" Trinity said. I walked into the house with her close behind and took in the furnishings. It was very different from Boston; Jayson had chosen things in here very meticulously. Marble floors, marble fireplace, another large white couch set, huge tv, art on the walls and accent figures. This was really his home.
