I make it into my home within 10 minutes, the thick wooden walls welcoming me as I enter. I'm caught off guard as I watch my mother run from room to room, shoving our things into bags, baskets and suitcases, piling them against the living room wall as she goes.

I'm so drunk I can barely comprehend what is happening.

She is so caught up in herself she hasn't even noticed me walk in, I look closer to see tears streaming down her pale face.

'Mother?' My voice echos throughout our house as she freezes in place before running up to me, throwing her arms around my neck.

'My darling girl, quickly you must pack they're coming!' She frets as her blue iris' dart all over my face in concern.

They're coming?

I put my hands on her shoulders, holding her in place while trying to calm her down, 'wh-who's coming?' My voice is barely a whisper against the crackling fire.

Her eyes widen at the mere mention of whoever these people are.

'Your drunk. God no, this isn't good.'

A moment of silence passes between us

She opens her mouth to speak before a bang fills the room, my head whips towards the door to find it on the ground as soldiers with markings I've never seen before enter.

I slowly step in-front of my mother who is on the verge of a heart attack, who are these people?

'Who are you!' I speak up trying to sound kind of sober, straightening my posture and squaring my shoulders. No one answers as more and more of these unknown armed fae enter my house.

There has to be atleast 30 of them.

Alas one of the armed men speak up,
'we are here for you. Either come willingly or things will get messy!' he bellows through his steel helmet.

Why would they want me?

I let out a low laugh, 'you must have the wrong residence, I can almost guarantee you that your not here for me.' my gaze darkens as the first one lets out a small chuckle.

'Fire!'

Dozens of injected arrows fly towards my legs, injecting me with whatever poison they were dipped in. I cry out as my legs give out, tumbling to the ground, blinded by nothing but pure pain.

My dress rips instantly.

'Leave no witnesses' I hear one say and my eyes are immediately on my Mother.

'No!' I scream, clawing my way over to her but I'm not fast enough. Five of the soldiers restrain my mother and hold her hands behind her back, her ocean blue eyes never leaving my own.

A kick to the stomach sends me flying back to the ground as I snarl in pain, trying to reach my mother.

'NO PLEASE!' I sob attempting to rise again, burning beginning to fill my body.

The tallest guard flips up his helmet, allowing for me to see his amber eyes light up with pleasure.
'Sorry princess but he wants no witnesses.'

My body begins burning from the inside, tearing at my organs, begging for a release.

My mother shakes as a silent sob escapes her lips, 'no matter what they say A-Ally, I love you and I am your M-Mother-

she's cut short as a guard kicks the back of her knees sending them crashing to the ground.

The sound of it makes me cry out as I'm forced to lie and watch my Mother die. My legs are numb, I cannot feel anything but the seering flame burning inside me.

I cannot move.

'P-Please I'm b-begging you kill me, not her please!' I sob as tears freely fall from my eyes.

The guards watch in delight as they laugh.

My mother looks into my eyes,
'you will rise from the ashes my darling' she whispers as her head falls to the ground and my body goes up in flames.
