My sleep was disturbed by Tsireya shaking me up. "What's wrong with you" I said instantly waking up all scared. "What, I'm just waking you up for breakfast. Neomi what is up with you, you've been acting up this past few days." she asked scared for me. "I'm fine. It's just that the warrior test is coming up. And I don't know if I'll make it."

Every Metkayina child has to do a certain warrior test, when and if you make it out alive you're a true Metkayina warrior. The test is simple, kill or get killed. You have to fight one that has already completed the test, you win if the opponent surrenders, if one doesn't surrender you're allowed to kill them. That hasn't happened in a long time, and I hope it won't for as much time as possible.

"Neomi, you're Metkayina's best warrior and you haven't even done the test. You have nothing to worry about. Plus, Rotxo got beaten up by a newcomer, c'mon you'll beat him up too. I know you will." she said encouraging me to trust and be confident in my abilities.

"Now get up, we have to go to breakfast before mom gets all pissed off at us." she said chuckling at me. I joined her and got up. We walked to breakfast while talking about the past couple of days. We didn't get the chance to talk a lot, we were both incredibly busy with all of this teaching stuff and the foreigners.

"You two are early" Ao'nung said with sarcasm. "It's too early to deal with you Ao" I said with a sleepy voice. I felt someone's eyes on me and it was the boy, who I've become pretty close with in these past days. Neteyam. I don't know what we are specifically, but I know that we're not 'just friends'.

I never thought I'd have these weird and unexplainable feelings for someone who wasn't even from or clan. I'm surprising myself everyday. Neteyam had my eyes on him ever since him and his family came to our clan to seek shelter.

We finished breakfast, we had our usual fish with seaweed. It never disappoints. Today, we had sign language on our schedule. The beginners are not even close to getting one word right, it's kind of annoying. However, they should be learning all of our ways in their own speed, no rush.

"This isn't getting anywhere." Tsireya said without a single hope for the newcomers. "Okay, miss demanding. Let's see how you climb a tree then." Lo'ak challenged us. "Sure" we said agreeing to the challenge that was just given to us. When Lo'ak said 'climb a tree' me and Neteyam instantly made eye contact. I smiled at me and he nodded at me while a small smile was spreading across his face. It truly made my heart flutter.

"After you" Ao'nung said while getting himself out of the way. Tsireya tried first, she fell on the third branch. She was unstable and Lo'ak was laughing at her the whole time. He climbed the tree in less than 10 seconds.

"You now, big boy" Lo'ak said smirking at Ao'nung and giving him the 'I know you won't be able to do it' kind of look. He was in his element, the trees, that was his and Neteyam's zone. Ao'nung started to climb the tree and I already knew that this won't end up well for any of us. Our parents will yell at us, yet again. "Look I'm almost at the to-" he said, in that exact same moment, he fell off of the fourth branch. It was about 30 ft in the air.

The fall gave him a nasty bruise along his abs. He sat down with his back turned against the big brown trunk. "Neomi at least you can do it" Neteyam teased while looking me dead in the eye. "Okay, but if I get hurt it's on you two" I told the two brothers that were looking at each other and laughing at Ao'nung and Tsireya.

I started to climb the big tall tree with many branches and was slowly getting the hang of it. I forgot all of the details from the lesson already. It didn't matter how I got on the tree, just that I did. The forest Na'vis looked at me in surprise as I was quickly moving closer to the top.

I did it. I finally climbed a tree. This is so exciting, it's beautiful up here, the view, everything is perfect. I'll definitely be doing this more often. Ao'nung and Tsireya cheered me on while Lo'ak was looking at me in disbelief. Neteyam, however, he was smiling at me like a little kid who just got his favourite lollipop.

I came down and gave my siblings a high-five. "How'd you do it" Ao'nung asked, clearly jealous that I was the only one to succeed this challenge. "I had a really good teacher" I told him with a light smirk. All of them looked at Neteyam, "why are all of you looking at me" he said throwing his hands in the air, because he was feeling endangered. "You know damn well why " Tsireya said rolling her eyes at him. All of us went silent after that.

"Come on, let's go to dinner." Kirri said, breaking the awkward silence that was made by Tsireya's words. We arrived and saw my mother and the grown forest Na'vi, I think her name is Neytiri, looking at us furiously. They quickly moved towards us and grabbed us by our ears. We walked to our home and Neytiri followed us with her kids. My mother stopped and glared at Ao'nung's bruise that was laying perfectly on his stomach.

"What in the god's name were you irresponsible kids doing" Ronal asked while her grip on our ear loosened. We looked at Ao'nung and realised no one had healed him. "Next time, if you want to get away with these kinds of things. You better look brand new when any of the adults see you." Neytiri said. I think she wasn't as mad at us, Ronal's kids, as she was at hers.

"If this happens one more time, you're all grounded for the rest of your lives." my mother said. She's always overreacting.

For dinner, we had something the forest Na'vi would cook every end of the week. It was their traditional dish. "What is this?" Ao'nung asked disgusted at the food that was in front of him. "It's a tradition dish of the forest Na'vi. We wanted to cook something, to make them feel at home." I said looking at Neteyam and back at Ao'nung.

"That's very thoughtful of you. Where'd you get the fish, though? Don't they only live in the forest Na'vi area" Kirri asked nicely. "We went there. We took our best hunters with us. So I hope you'll enjoy the meal" Tsireya said.

My parents introduced the dish to the Sully parents and their father said "that's very nice of you. We respect that.". They thanked us and continued with eating the famous meal.

The whole time at dinner was pretty silent. That was until Ao'nung decided to speak up. "Neomi, are you excited for the Na'vi test yet. It's coming up and you haven't trained much." Ao'nung said reminding me of the test. "I try not to think about it as much as I can. I'm pretty nervous about it." I said awkwardly. "And... the opponent will be..." my brother said wanting me to finish his sentence.

"Rotxo" I did as he wanted me to. Tsireya almost choked on her food. She didn't have to say anything, her face expression gave her thoughts away. "Are you sure you want to fight him?" Tsireya said with a scared look on her beautiful face. "I'm actually pretty confident in my decision" I said looking her dead in the eye like she was starting some type of drama.

Neteyam and his siblings were lost in our conversation, but no one decided to question anything. "What is all of this about?" Kirri decided to ask for those who don't know, including herself. "Oh right you don't know. It's a test you have to do to become a true Metkayina warrior. You fight someone who's already done it and you win if you kill the opponent or if he surrenders. There aren't any Metkayina's who didn't succeed. Last time that happened was when our grand grand grand grandfathers dad killed the one that was trying to become a true warrior. Cruel times. But that was a long time ago, I'm sure Neomi will succeed. I mean, she is known for the best warrior of her age." Ao'nung explained the whole conversation.

"Okay enough of this. You're making me more nervous than I should be. And to add, it's not even that close." I said with a fake smile on my face. "Neomi, it's in 2 days." Tsireya said with a serious voice.
