My peaceful sleep was interrupted by Ao'nung, who was being yelled at by my parents. He forgot to water the plants, which were eaten by our Ilus. They eat plants once a week to stay healthy.

"It was actually Neomi's turn to water them, but okay" he said while pointing his fingers at me. This motherfucker, it in fact was not my turn to water them. Or maybe it was. I watered them 3 times so far, but who's counting. I don't get why they're making such a big deal about this. Ao'nung needs to grow up, he calls himself the oldest but argues about these kinds of things.

"He's right, it was my turn. I'm sorry" I confessed to my parents. "It won't happen again I promise." I said with tiredness.

At breakfast, I noticed that Tsireya had this weird mark on her neck. "Tsireya, what's that on your neck" I asked, actually being curious. "It's a hickey that my brother made." Neteyam said with this specific accent of his while laughing at Lo'ak. Whenever Neteyam was smiling it was so pure. His white teeth were showing and he had a dimple on each side of his cheeks. I bit the inside of my checks to stop me from smiling at him. "So funny bro" Lo'ak said with annoyance. He rolled his eyes at Neteyam and looked back at his food, which was in front of him.

After the first meal, we went to the beach, where we had big rocks that were placed in a circle. After the training we would sit there and talk about all kinds of things.

We were sitting on the rocks and started the training with some breathing exercises. "Breathe in" Tsireya said and we all breathed in. "and breathe out slowly" she said, doing that as well Neteyam choked and asked for help. I looked at Tsireya who was already looking at me with a face that said 'you should go and help him'.

I went over to him and sat in front of him. This was our face to face eye contact, we have never been this close to each other. I was able to get a better look at him and he had the perfect yellow eyes.

"So breathe in, in your stomach. Here." I said as I touched his body. He froze and his heart was racing. "Try to slow down your heart, the sea is all around you." I said while looking at him. He nodded, softly and gave the exercises another try. He failed, again.

"Just practice and you'll get a hang of it" I said with a smile across my face. I went back to where I was seated firstly.

The training ended and I decided that I was going to show Kirri our tree of ancestors. I found her in the water petting her Ilu.

"Kirri" I said and she shot her head up in surprise. "I want to show you something special" I said while calling Maanami. I made the bond with my Ilu and made a hand motion which was mostly used for 'follow me'. And so she did. We went through the corals and past some sea creatures. We swam into this big entrance made out of rocks. When we came through she saw the view. It was fantastic. "Where's the tree" she asked. I looked at her, smirked and looked down. The tree was below us, under the water.

"It's so beautiful" she said with amazement in her eyes. "The thing is, I can't bond with Eywa anymore. It could kill me." She said with a sad face. Really? She did tell me that the last time she made contact with Eywa she had an attack, yes, but I didn't know that it could kill her if she did it again. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know" I said genuinely being sorry.

We came back to the beach and saw the others getting ready to go for a swim. Lo'ak tried to tie Neteyam's hair in a ponytail. I think we all know how that went. Tuk ran over to me and said. "Neomi will you swim with me please" it brought me joy whenever she opened her mouth. "Of course" I said, a smile spreading across my face.

Me and Tuk both jumped in the water and began to swim. I showed her some of my favourite corals. We played under the water and had so much fun. We all gathered in the water, far from the beach.

"We should see who can hold their breath under water the longest." Ao'nung said, challenging all of us. We all agreed and just like that, all of us were under water.

Tuk and Lo'ak were the first to loose. Next up was Neteyam. "That's not fair. They have been doing this their whole life" was heard from Lo'ak who was already out of the competition. Later, Kirri and Tsireya both swam back up and the only two under water were me and Ao'nung. Ao'nung wanted to win so he punched me in my stomach. It was unexpected so I couldn't dodge it. I let all the air out from my lungs and quickly swam back up.

"Cheater" I said while holding my stomach. "We didn't have any rules" he said and shrugged. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. I can't believe he just punched me. Skxawng.

At lunch, Tuk kept asking about my pets and I told her I have an Ikran. Neteyam and Lo'ak looked at each other in disbelief.

"Im assuming it got lost. Far, far away from his habitat. I bonded with him after he tried to kill me, strange animal. Now I feed him and he lives deep in the forest with Faakhir." I explained looking at the confused brothers.

"He chose you." Neteyam said out of the blue. We all looked at him confused. "Ikrans choose their flyer that way. It tries to kill you." He explained his previous statement.

I finished my lunch and went in the forest. I tried to climb a tree to get on the same level as my Ikran but I failed miserably. One of the many benches on the tree scratched my tail. I feel off of the tree and hit my head.

I decided to return to my home. "What were you doing?!" Ronal said with a worried expression. "How many times have I told you not to climb trees. Our bodies aren't made for that" she said giving me some type of a lecture. She went to get some creams and a leaf for the scratch.

It didn't hurt that bad, but when she put the cream on it, it stung so bad I wanted to die on the spot. Tsireya and the friend group came when they saw that Ronal was getting healing creams. "What happened?" Tsireya asked looking at my tail. "I stumbled over a root" I lied. "You can go back to doing whatever you did before. I'll be fine, thank you." I said softly. I think Tsireya was teaching them our sign language or better, our finger talk.

My mom forced me to go eat dinner. "Neomi will you show me the forest tomorrow, please" she said with her mouth full of food. "Tuk, don't talk with your mouth full" Lo'ak said disgusted. "Sure, why not. After lunch okay?" I said and she nodded.

After dinner I went to my room. Tired from the previous events that same day. I saw Ao'nung and Kirri talking. I chuckled to myself and quickly fell asleep. I was the first one to fall asleep that day. That was a rare thing.
