CHAPTER FOUR
Strangers Pass ByUltron was going on about the hatred for Tony Stark, and then the man, the legend, showed up. "Ah, Junior. You're gonna break your old man's heart. If I have one." Tony said.
Rose snuck away from everyone. She could see people's future moves with ease, and it was irritating. Everything was loud. Her back pressed against the cold metal wall.
Thor's booming voice spoke up, "nobody has to break anything."
"Clearly you've never made an omelet." Ultron said.
Rose tried to tune everything out like her mother taught her. Focus on one mind at a time. It all hurt, it hurt like hell. But she had to push through it, she knew others went through worse things and situations in life. Then she felt a sharp pain in her chest.
She looked down, checking to see if she was bleeding. She wasn't. In her years of having the powers she has, never once did she see future events for herself. They were all for others. But that pain, she knew what it meant, and then she saw it. Rose saw herself, in Sokovia, sitting down with her back pressed against the wall of a brick building. There was blood everywhere, ashes scattered, dust flying, sparks igniting. The whole place looked like hell. She didn't think she'd see anything else, but she did. Pietro. Pietro laid on the ground, bullet holes in his shirt, bleeding out.
Violet mist spewed from her fingertips as she went behind Steve, plaguing his reality.
"Remember, focus on one mind at a time, then you can eventually focus on a whole town." Her mother told her.
Rose was only six, and she had discovered her powers long before. Her mother taught her, practiced with her, in order to perfect them in any and every way. But it wasn't to be the best; it was to protect herself. Her mother knew how harsh the world was, even Rose had experienced the coarse realities of the world.
Rose turned her head, sensing something, or someone, and she was right. Maybe being so focused on one person at a time, wasn't the best idea in their situation. The next thing Rose knew was that she was unconscious. The endless void of nothings, and loneliness. She never minded being knocked out, purely because it meant she could have peace and quiet. She didn't have to hear screaming voices of pain and agony. It was relaxing.
And while she was unconscious, everyone around her was. Sure, most of them saw their darkest fears, but they felt something. Wanda and Pietro couldn't find her. Clint found her. There were mixed feelings. One, she was technically a kid, or at least she seemed like one. He read the tiny part of her file, there was barely anything except that there was no record of her father, and her mother did her best, her powers, and that neither her or her mother chose for her to go with HYDRA. But she still tried to kill them, she also twisted Natasha's leg. And that, he was partially impressed by, considering who Natasha was and her history.
He let out a groan, weighing the options. If he took everyone back to his place, he'd have to deal with the fact that a possible psychopath could kill his family or friends at any minute. But a part of him thought that maybe, just maybe, she didn't actually want to murder them in their sleep. And he was really depending on that.
Roughly, he picked her up, making sure neither Maximoff twin was around. Now, he knew that there was a high chance that she wouldn't want to work with them. But they had a common enemy: Ultron. He placed her on the floor of the quinjet, placing a thin sheet over her upper body. If she was willing, they needed her alive to answer questions. And the cold floor wasn't gonna help with body temperature.
"Okay, kid, just don't kill us, and we're good." Clint muttered, walking away. When he ran back inside, he left Rose alone to herself completely. And even though a part of her knew what was going on, and felt like she should go, she didn't have the physical or mental capacity to run.
Rose being okay with being unconscious-
And Clint's just like: just don't murder us, and we're good.
Okay, bye!
